"any requirement for users to register a game online in order to play it would be left to game publishers. Sony won't require that"

It doesn't say anything about an online pass. It says that publishers can require users to register a game online in order to play it. Not just to play the online component.

The fact that you disagree with something doesn't inherently make it a logical fallacy.

Ahhh I can see where you are confused now... You are like the 9/11 truthers and take a portion of the quote to fit some agenda (And if you don't have an agenda yet you are still doing that it just means youve been manipulated to believe what the "truthers" are saying is true). However, if you take the fact Sony is talking about registering a game ONLINE (its in caps it's obviously a hint) to be able to play... And the ps4 requires no internet connection at all then you should get an "Ah ha!" moment soon

If you are under the impression that this means 3rd parties will require you to connect a system to the internet that has no internet to register the game then I honestly don't know what to tell you. As J_Allard already said, J_Allard is almost there... he obviously hasn't had the epiphany yet though

First of all, reported.

The Playstation 3 was my primary console this gen, and I expect the PS4 to be my primary console for next gen, so your agenda theory is entirely baseless. Sony didn't say the PS4 requires no internet connection to play any games. This is where the problem with your argument lies. What they actually said is that it can be enjoyed without the internet, which could mean anything. They never said anything about all offline features and singleplayer games being available without internet, and until they do, I'll continue being skeptical rather than blindly supporting them in the hopes that they're doing what I want.

Please show the quote where they said all PS4 singleplayer games will be available without an online connection and I will be content.

I don't know what you reported. My theory isn't baseless as I said if you don't have an agenda then you have just been convinced by the people who do.

You can continue being skeptical but there is no reason for it. No one is blindly supporting them. You clearly haven't read the OP. You being skeptical is more baseless and a logical fallacy ("There is no proof this isn't the case so this most likely is the case"). Me? I'm saying I will wait till there is at least smoke before I start thinking there is a fire.

They have said an internet connection is not required. They answered the questions that are asked. Its utterly ridiculous that they would need to say anything more than that. It's like if I asked you what you ate you went and started telling me everything you did today and all the ingredients in your food and who made it and how it was made instead of just saying "A sandwhich"

As J_Allard already said, "You can't say used games working on the console is entirely up to the publishers, plus game activations are up to publishers, AND also say you don't require any sort of Internet connection." J_Allard is almost there... he obviously hasn't had the epiphany yet though

And really, the only way part they would be able to block is online play.  If they even tried blocking single player on a console that is made to be played offline if one so chooses, the publishers would experience a backlash 10x as bad as MS is facing, now.

Another question for the doubters, where are the rumors? We had countless rumors of the kind of Draconian DRM that MS was putting into place. And it all came true. So...where is the same for the PS4? I haven't heard a single one coming from any insider/developer, yet we have had leaks about every other aspect of next gen. The vast majority of which have been proven correct.

Unless Sony is lying (possible), PS4 - the console - won't have DRM. PS4 games however definitely will, because some PS3 games, and almost all recent games with MP elements, already have DRM.

Some publishers will extend DRM to offline play, but hopefully not all.

Thus PS4, like PS3, is a DRM neutral platform. Preferrable would be an Anti-DRM platform, but that would be delusional thinking if you truly thought that might be the case. Xbone on the other hand is a pro-DRM platform by having compulsory elements which facilitate DRM on all games. So PS4 is much like PC in that neither platform has DRM built into the OS. Xbone is the outlier and hence is worthy of criticism.

I'll be very disappointed if Sony implements DRM beyond online pass for its 1st party titles.

What's the sitch with Wii U, can publishers put DRM on Ninty games?

great i just wish Microsoft could abandon all it's stupid policies. I may be a Sony fan but i want competition, it made Sony a better developer and publisher this gen to before

You do realise that you're all arguing over something you don't yet know the full details?

What Sony is implementing or not is still in the air. But it's a real treat to see all the XBO supporters come in here wishing Sony will implement something worse than MS...

If that's not desperation and trolling...
