I really have no Idea... It looked to me from those pics that there were quite a few Wiis moving with SSBB. I hope this to be true because imo a person who buys a Wii for brawl is the type of gamer that buys more games, then someone who buys a Wii for WiiSports. My Guess is 125k were sold will mabye 80-90% walking out with brawl.

I would think so because, if as is claimed by soo many people, most of Wii owners are kids or grandmas in Japan. So if 500k copies of SSBB were sold, I would imagine a lot of previous smash fans (as well as new ones) to buy a Wii to play the game.

I'd say 150k+ for Wii.

The game itself will sell very well, no doubt. But I do think that people are underestimating the number of gamers who already have a Wii, and that the amount of "casuals" owning one is indeed a lot lower than expected!
SSBB won't move huge amounts of hardware imo, much because, like I stated above, I think the number of "core" gamers that own a Wii is a lot higher than people assume.
From my conversations with a few store clerks around the vicinity here, the vast majority of console buyers (including Wii buyers) are gamers and know what they're looking for before they enter the store.
A console, it seems, is not something you just go and buy at whim, while cellphones for instance, is exactly that kind of thing.
Making that distinction is paramount to understanding the console market, and this is the reason why I feel that this gen won't see a lot more consoles and games sold than last gen.

@mummelmann - I can't believe I'm going to agree with you on something, but I say your right in casuals make up a smaller percentage of Wii owners than common perception would have you believe. All the Wii owners I know were all PS2 owners, so their not exactly new gamers.

I've been saying for some time that Wii will win over new people, and is already, especially with WiiFit, but those people will not go out of their way to find a Wii. Once Wii's are plentiful, then they'll start buying.

I totally expect Wii to outsell PS2. Adding women, ex-gamers and matures to the existing base, how could it not?

On topic: I'd guess 125-150k this week.

yes it will be but ninty most likely shipped more wiis this week so i think the numbers will increase
