The game itself will sell very well, no doubt. But I do think that people are underestimating the number of gamers who already have a Wii, and that the amount of "casuals" owning one is indeed a lot lower than expected!
SSBB won't move huge amounts of hardware imo, much because, like I stated above, I think the number of "core" gamers that own a Wii is a lot higher than people assume.
From my conversations with a few store clerks around the vicinity here, the vast majority of console buyers (including Wii buyers) are gamers and know what they're looking for before they enter the store.
A console, it seems, is not something you just go and buy at whim, while cellphones for instance, is exactly that kind of thing.
Making that distinction is paramount to understanding the console market, and this is the reason why I feel that this gen won't see a lot more consoles and games sold than last gen.
