Forums - Microsoft - Major Nelson: No TV Talk At E3. S'all about the games.

Now they show 10 awsome core games with stunning visuals and innovative gameplay and all the trolls will be bitch about are the 5 kinect/xbla games

Around the Network

I'm sure there will be plenty of games on display, but I don't believe for one second that TV and Kinect won't get a decent chunk of the conference.

People will keep shouting "TV, Kinect crap, and Arcade" from the rooftops until the moment the conference proves them wrong. Then we'll hear things like "it was good, but first impressions are lasting. The reveal doomed the console, the damage is done" as well as "they can have whatever games they want, I will never support the evil MS"

Seriously, we have known E3 will be a pure games show for them for a while now, people just seem to be conveniently ignoring that info

I am afraid of that type of post the most. That would essentially mean though that MS won E3 and that is their last resort....sticking to some misplaced morals regarding a console they weren't going to buy in the first place. For once in a long time, I am happy at the idea I get to lecture future haters that X1 has more games and all they can tell me in return is fake moral principles.

For lulz, heres some comebacks for those comments.(Mods this is having fun IMO, pelase warn me if this is too much)

"it was good, but first impressions are lasting" - You're right, E3 was their first impression in games. And they knocked it out of the park!

"The reveal doomed the console, the damage is done" - Holiday marketing of exclusives should address that nicely

"they can have whatever games they want, I will never support the evil MS" - The evil MS, with so little studios, just got more exclusives then anybody else this holiday, If you think that's evil, then Id like to see your definition of a friend

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

It would really depend on what Sony shows. If they show less exclusives, then we have the bargaining power. If Sony shows a Move title or child-friendly PSN game, that will go a long way to cancel out any kinect showings.

i'm pretty sure they will talk "a lot" about kinect since that is a big part of the whole idea and not only for tv, also for games.

and there is nothing wrong to show something like kinect sports 3. not every gamer is like "omg if it isn't super core it has ot be shit". there are guys like me who play core games and are also happy if they get games like kinect sports.

i can have a lot of fun with it together with other family members or friends and even alone for some time. and when i play kinect sports with a family member i don't have less fun with it as when i play halo 4 alone against some online guys.

but they should really not show much about tv and movie stuff this time. that would be a big mistake...

not sure who would complain about some arcade games. if games like journey, braid, trials, minecraft or castle crasher have taught us something it should be that arcade or indie games can be awesome and are already a big part of most "core" gamers libraries and this will be probably even more next gen.

and since you could often read the last weeks how awesome the ps4 for indies is, i'm sure at least playstation fans won't really have something against that.

Applying logic to the forums? Well aren't you adorable lol

I've already seen quite a few people here complaining about XBLA games as being a possible part of the 15 exclusives MS mentioned. Apparently indie games aren't cool on Xbox

I just want to know where Sony and Microsoft (we already can see that Nintendo is doing it right) stand when it comes to DRM. Games are great, but they are kind of immaterial to me if I am essentially "renting" them from Microosft and Sony thanks to the new draconian DRM that was talked about after the May 21st reveal.

I want to love both the Xbox One and the PS4, but if neither one will actually "sell" games to me anymore then I'll support Nintendo by default with Steam there to pick up the slack (yeah Steam doesn't sell games either, but the dirt cheap prices make the "rentals" justifiable).

On topic, I think the big reveal of a revived Rare franchise is what I'll be looking out for. Hoping for Banjo ... Killer Instinct was  great, but I suck at fighting games. A new Perfect Dark and Goldeneye has been done already so I don't see it being that. We haven't seen a true Banjo Kazooie game in a very long time. It would also help make up for the current lack of platformers/adventure on Xbox so it makes the most sense to me.

Really looking forward to Ryse.
