Forums - Sony - The Last of Us: Pre-Order the Digital Edition & Season Pass, DLC Detailed

I never buy season passes, but I'll get the story DLC if I like the game enough.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Let's not be one of those that jumps to conclusion about the "more story" part.  :-p

I don't think they are gonna leave something out just for DLC in a story driven game.  Naughty Dog is not that greedy.

=/

Again we don't know if the story driven dlc will be pertinent to the actual story, it may take place before or after the game. Bioshock Infinite also has a season pass and from what I can tell the preplanned DLC didn't hurt the game at all.

I don't give a damn. If I pay for a game, give it to me complete, for christ's sake. Before, after. Fuck, who cares. Put that "more story content" as an unlockable like the old days and not by paying. That would make a lot of people happy.

And I agree with that, I too want my 60 dollars worth or however much I pay for a video game. Just as said Developer/Publishers wants to make as much money as possible for the game. It would be nice if it was unlockable rather than paid DLC, but it's business so long as the Naughty Dog didn't strip down crucial story elements in the game just to add DLC to the game at a later time I'm fine with it.

Season pass for a game that is bound to be around 8 hours long is a bit unnecessary. For Borderlands and Mass Effect games it make sense because RPG's have always received expansion packs of sorts.

Why are you spreading made up lies? Trying to make less people buy the game or something? The campaign lenght has been adressed in the past and said to be between 12 and 16 hours, as the game can be played in different ways, I'm sure given my nature to heavily scavenge in survival games, it will take at least 16 hours then.

Edit. Plus there is multiplayer on top of it, so DLCs are a given to make people stick to the game even longer.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Gamers can't do anything, but complain. More story. What's wrong with that?
Here are the greatest games of all time with story DLCs
Red Dead Redemption
Half Life: Two
Batman: Arkham City
Mass Effect 2
Mass Effect 3
Gears Of War 3...ETC
But no, you guys had to complain. That's what you do best. COMPLAIN.

I really hate stuff like that...

Doesn't get more greedy than that.

Yeah, because giving a chance for the consumer to save money is so greedy. OH THE HORROR.

Why? What's the point of season pass except screwing people who don't purchase it?

Nope.  Those who purchase it spend less money than those who dont.    In other words those who purchase it get benefits, while those who dont are unaffected.

Exactly. These guys don't have brains. They just complain A LOT.

Those who don't will miss the "more story" thing, which is being screwed. Of course, they can always pay more after the season pass for the DLC itself, which makes them double-screwed.

You don't make sense. You have to be fair here. The developers want to profit too.

You are given an opportunity to save your money, but you refused. The only way to get the DLCs is by buying them individually, which costs more, but you were given an opportunity which you refused. And I would say it's pretty fair. If you say no, that makes you greedy, not Naughty Dog.

You're missing the point, totally. There's no problem (Well, a bit yes) by including story DLC. What we're discussing is the fact that if the DLC will include fundamental, integral part of the story, and not something post-credits.

And I don't see what's the problem. I'M THE ONE PAYING. I HAVE THE RIGHT TO COMPLAIN. By that logic, people shouldn't complain about the One. Just shut up and buy. Well, no. Sorry.
