Just curious about this.  Kotaku whose rumors surprisingly have been nearly 100% accurate about PS4 and Xbox One have also stated PS4 will have pay to play online as well as a pre owned system nearly identical to how MS is implementing it.  Very trustworthy insiders at Neogaf have been saying the same thing.

So Im curious if the internet will doom Sony like they currently are MS or if the reaction will be different. What do you think?

I don't think MS or Sony will have it - they'll be changing their strategies now to avoid the backlash

Sony will definitely have a paywell like MS this gen. Expect for example Gaikai behind it.

The reaction won't even be 1/10 as negative as it's been for Microsoft. To many people, especially here on VGChartz, Sony can do no wrong. Meanwhile, Microsoft can do no right.

Really? Well... I am not surprised. I think there will be no fee for playing online itself. Both will offer several "plans" I assume with several features included and you get what you pay for but even the cheapest option will include online-play. Pay nothing, get "nothing".

Then shit will be flung, directly at Kaz.

There was a rumor saying PS4 will only be $399. Money is definitely coming in from somewhere else.

It almost *has* to be "pay for online-gaming". I bet they will also include other features in it, just like MS does this gen, but I think in discussions many will disagree :)

MS is making too much money with XBL, I doubt Sony does as much with psn+.
