I said launch period. On Launch period, hardcore gamers with a console of choice, buy without caring much for the price. On the long run yeah, normal gamers and casuals buy the console.

Have to say I don't understand your thread, I fully realize and am aware that you're not in the slightest amused about Microsoft's direction with used games and their unclarity about the online useage, but you can't really say they're ignoring hardcore games. all the big "hardcore" hitters this holiday have been confirmed for Xbox One as well as games in 2014 etc. Maybe you don't even like the Apps and stuff, but which casual game has Microsoft been touting for Xbox One exactly? Stealth edit: Actually, to clarify, were you talking about the article, or your own twitter feed? |
I didnt write this Kotaku did.
Im buying an Xbox One day 1 either way. I have to have Forza 5

but maybe it's not really an issue? maybe people are at least once per day online with their online devices? and maybe steam showed that people won't die if they can't sell their games anymore?

Twitter reaction is positive? That depends on a very loose definition of positive.

Meh. Its not really huge because Ultimate Team as it is, comes complete. There is no need for DLC for Ultimate Team.
Im betting this is some sort of exclusive "Xbox" kit and badge or something. The point about Ultimate Team is that everything anyone needs is right there. Every player will be there. Every stadium will be there. Formations will be there.
I see nothing at all significant that can come from this. Its not like CoD, where new maps can be put in.

..except that the "core" rejected the wiiU too. it actually goes to show you how important that core really is because they are the early adapters. they are the ones that pre-order a console before it's announced and pay $400 for a device that only plays 6 games total. ..when the core doesn't show up it does a lot to determine a devices perception as a success or failure.

LOL...it is an issue. Wait until they buy their games, thats all I have to say. Gamestop is going to have people coming back to them in droves after that paywall comes up immediately after they made that used purchase to them.
Well the "mainstream media" barely know what factual news is, wtf do they know about gaming?

This is what makes me think that even though I find the Xbox One's current direction totally boring and not my thing that it's going to be a success anyway and would have to be my current bet for the best sales next gen. I doubt most people will know or care about the things the forums have been blowing up about lately and the TV thing could be a huge bonus to casual sales. If I had to bet I think it'll be like the Wii success: obviously the best sales, but not the first choice of the majority of the hardcore gamers.
It'll be interesting to see what they show at E3 (and whether or not they repeat anything from this conference or they completely skip it over like some have been suggesting) and how this next generation plays out in general.
