I think it's time for "MS fans are getting overconfident" thread.

Well I can't tell to be honest since I wasn't intrested in the xbox reveal and didn't watch it, will check the significant info soon and then will elaborate on my point of view.

Its actually overdue for a PS overconfident thread. But hey, IMO.

It was just supposed to be a jab at the prievous "Sony fans are getting overconfident" threads didn't read all the posts here to be honest :P

But well from what people on the internetz say it was dissapointing so well ;-/ nothing you can do.

Its weird nobody is seeing this conference for what it is: Getting the non gaming content and COD stuff out of the way so E3 is extremely game focused. Not to mention the console itself was actually shown, the true meaning of a console reveal :P

No.  What this conference was is Microsoft showing their new device to the world.  You don't introduce a new device by showing off what you consider it's non-essential features.  This is how Microsoft is positioning their console.  This is their sales pitch.  This is how they want the world to see the XBox one.

Stop trying to kid yourself with the notion that Microsoft is going to be focussed on games at E3.  They haven't been focused on games at E3 since 2009.

Why hven't they been focused on games since 2009? Because half of it is spent talking about features......things they just got out of the way. Ever considered a 2 conference approach, one geared towards features and one geared towards games?

This one got the word out to the masses on what it can do. E3 will get the word out to the gamers. Again, its 2 weeks apart. 2 weeks. Seriously.

No.  That isn't how it works.  You don't reveal a product by "getting things out of the way".  You reveal a product by showing off its most important features.  If they thought gaming was its most important feature, they would have led with that.

MS can dictate how things work. Its their console after all.

These things were its most important features. Non gaming features, but still important. Its hard trying to have a 50/50 approach. Historically, doing 50/50 during E3 hurts the gaming side of it. I hope I am right. Guess its glass half full/empty with me and you. We shall see

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

ITT: Everybody predicts that the console that is the successor the 7th gfen that they played the msot will take 1st place.

We have no reason to think that any of the consoles will win at this point, and we have no reason to think that any will sell poorly.

The PS4 has a lot of hype at the moment, but no system selling games revealed.
The Xbone has a big game announced for launch (Forza), but it's basically confirmed that it will require online, which will massively reduce hardware sales outside of Japan, USA and UK, and block used games, which will cause a huge reduction in software sales worldwide.
The WiiU has the biggest upcoming system sellers by a huge margin, but is not selling great currently,

Anyone who makes a prediction right now is predicting what they want to happen, not what they think is likely to happen.

At this point, any prediction is simply a wild guess. It is just way too early to make any truly well based predictions.

MS fans were so positive about the ps4 here, seems the favor wasn't returned. Lack of games? They've come out to say they will show games at E3, possibly 15 exclusives of them,8 of the 15 being new IPs. PS4 has only a couple more confirmed games only hours after the Xbox ONE reveal yet it still "lacks games"?

This forum was great up until this reveal, now it's all gone down hill. Shame and waste.

Well some big Xbox fans are quite disappointed, including me. The PS fans are probably very happy, and have all come to criticize the event. Now criticism is great, but some of those users who are being critical have said in the past that they have no intention of getting the next Xbox yet they are all claiming they are "angry" and "disapointed".

I think however all gamers are angry that there was no games shown except COD and EA sports and 2 exclusives that looked average. I myself I'm anrgy that there were no amazing games shown, all the cool TV functions are for the US only, their used game policy sucks, and the fact that it has to be online every 24 hours. However I have certainly not given up yet and will wait for E3 to see what the Xbox One has to offer over the PS4.

I don't really buy the 'uk on lockdown for xbox one'.
namely because the xbox achieves control of the cable box over hdmi or via the rear IR transmitter to transmit remote codes to the box - in the uk only the sky box allows commands over hdmi, the bt infinity, freesat hd and virgin media boxes dont accept commands only issue them (to the tv), so they'd have to operate over IR - which in this case would mean sitting the tv box directly behind your xbox one, and even then various different models with different IR codes.. and of course, ir code use being much slower, the instant switching in the reveal was done over hdmi commands, as most US cable boxes have a unified setup - that's not the case outside the US - and many tv subscription boxes in japan run HDCP which would be a big issue for the xbox one (not that it'd ever sell well in japan anyway).

and if you take away the tv functionality, you basically end up with a console thats crippled by features you dont want or cant use.

heres hoping they release a cheaper alternative without all the tv crap and less ram for people who just want to play games, if they dont then i seriously do not see microsoft holding a lead anywhere but US.

I'd rather have a PSone than an Xbox one.. And that's what I have to say about that! MS won't win, they'll be dead last.

I don't understand the frustration about them not showing games. They stated right off the bat that E3 is where they'd be showing all their games (and it is THEIR games, 15 exclusives, 8 new IPs. Awesome). If I hadn't known that going in, I would have been disappointed as well, but knowing it, I'm actually very happy. For one, because the multimedia features they showed were actually very appealing to me, and also, because now for the first time in ages, we get 90 minutes of pure gaming from MS at E3. Which by the way is in like 19 days, so those of you clinging to the misguided notion that MS has abandoned gamers are going to have to work fast to get your desired number of shots in.

I mean I understand some of the concerns people are having based on info released after the show, but much of that stuff is still up in the air, as even MS seems to be contradicting itself a bit as to what's going to happen with used games and all that. People here are acting like everything is written in stone, when MS themselves doesn't seem to have made up their minds quite yet.

Can we just please not treat anyone who didn't hate the reveal like a leper around here? Because that's pretty much the attitude I'm seeing here right now, and it's rather disturbing.

Well..I do think that they will take the EARLY market share with its streamlined focus in the mainstream MAINSTREAM audience. Sports and what not..

But I'm not sure about the next 3-4 years after the new gen starts..

Although I'm hoping on getting a Ps4 though.. No hard feeling MS

Yay!!!

MS will not be winning next gen if they are serious about the "online check in every 24 hours" and the used game fees. Not only will they not win, but they could get third place, and it may be their last console. Existing fans aren't going to take too kindly to all these fees and limitations, and the console will likely be too expensive and the games too limited in appeal to bring in a mass market audience.
