From my perspective, i'm all for this restriction. Guess why?

This sucks.

For the record it doesn't 'not suck' on steam but I put up with it because the games are much cheaper and the online is free. I would prefer a box and for it to not need online but I choose steam because I got Bioshock Infinite day 1 with Xcom and Spec ops the line for £27 while it was £37 for Infinite alone on the PS3/360.

This is the DRM solution that even Sony will use. Mark my words, they have been coy about this on purpose as they didn't want to be first to confirm it.

However, they may leave it as not mandatory, but up to each publisher to turn on for their own software.

Nintendo may likely copy this in a future firmware if this is a cause for further 3rd party banishment, similar to EA.

This is exactly what I'm worried will happen.

Everybody was praising Steam. Now that the shit is going in that direction, everybody is butthurt. I am quite confident that MS and Sony will adopt the same strategy when it comes to this. Fkc, I'm mad about this as I won't feel any pleasure in collecting games. I still hope this is some kind of rumour and something will happen in the meanwhile.
And I hate Steam.

Is it up to the developers for the ps4 if they want to do this? I wonder if this is all this means too or every game will need to be activated online regardless.
