lol, wut? So your saying people love steam because it requires an internet connection? Sorry, but people love steam because of the huge discounted prices. People dislike the fact that steam requires an internet connection. Why compare two completely separate services with one another in the first place?

This feature is not good no matter what anyone sais about another service. Why even defend it? lol I'm sure it doesn't even effect you.

Actually I'm with Kowenicki on this one. I don't remember any threads about how horrible steam is because it requires internet, but MS does it and boom, they're a terrible company. I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous. Not an MS fan, but let's not kid ourselves. No one loves internet as a requirement, but not that many people complain about it either.

you're right people should be complaining about not being able to download games from steam without having an internet connection

So Nintendo fought EA because they did not want to use this kind of policy. Making a lot of sense if Sony is doing the same. So EA doesn't want to publish their game on Nintendo consoles because of this.
I don't think I am wrong...

Looks like the Xbox One is going to have trouble in some parts of EU. Heck, even in parts of the US, for that matter. Poor decision, IMO.

Oh well :/

This site is 95% Sony, MS, Nintendo, 1% steam if that. Look further if you care and I'm sure you will find some thread that states how bad always-online is. And I don't really care about anecdotal evidence, I'd rather go by the fact that no one likes how online is required to install a game. I'm arguing general concensus, not one man/woman's opinion.

And as for the bold, that's what I was saying in the first place. It just doesn't make any sense to compare two completely different services that don't even have the same rule for online in the first place.

I'm of the opinion here that "if you don't like it, don't buy it" mentality here. Simple enough, it's not going to change because you don't like it.

I'd say it's a resounding certainty that the PS4 will have similar limitations going on.

It's a given and the future.

now i understand why EA drop the online pass thing... they dont need it no more... LOL

this means no used games right?

No, this means it will be handled more like Sonys first party games on the PS3 / PS Vita today. Games like PSABR, LBP Vita, Resistance 3, Uncharted 3 and a lot more already include an online pass. You can buy these games used, but you need to pay an extra fee to the publisher to play the game.

Sony blocks multiplayer or other content of the used game today. MS blocks the game completely.

I would not be surprised if Sony goes the same way like MS with the PS4 though.

But it doesn't bother me. I haven't bough a used game since Fifa 2001 I guess.

same here. Never bought a second hand game. Just to try to understand the mind set behind this move.

almost 20 million people played a retail copy of Halo 3 and only 12 million paid MS for it. That is the only reason behind this.
Same goes for any other publisher.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

I got 4 accounts on my xbox 360 does that mean I was supose to buy halo 3 4 times, so everyone can play it, what next they'll want us to pay a fee to play split screen coop.

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I don't if it has been said yet but it should be added to OP : XboxOne seem to require to be connected at least once a day (Kotaku)
