Are we still waiting for this? I would think that Nintendo would have one today to counter the Microsoft news, .like sony is doing on Twitter.

Yeah, we are. Probably not until the end of the month (Nintendo's "counter" was last week with the other Direct).

Oh ok. you are just waaay ahead of the curve.Good job.

Well, that "counter" was a poor attempt then.

I don't think Nintendo are childish enough to "counter" another announcement. Leave that to Sony, EA etc.

how is it childish?  It's called respecting your opponent enough to try to counter their news with your own.  Not everyone has to opperate in a vaccum.

Yeah I know, it was a light joke really because I imagine both Nintendo and Sony will be on damage control in a few hours

Nintendo does seem to ignore what their competition does more though.  They have confidence in their IP and their selling power.  Of course I guess they will respond between now and E3 but maybe that was their plan from the start since they're not having a big conference.

You don't counter MS same day. You let them have their moment in the sun. The real battle for interest for all three parties will begin at e3.

Heh, I don't think this is really a battle at this point. Microsoft is going to get every single big third party multi-plat and probably some exclusives and lots of DLC content depending on what they're willing to pay.

Nintendo is really not even in this horse race anymore. They would be better suited focusing on financing small indie developers, really it should've been implimented years ago at Nintendo to throw a few bucks at these little guys. If you finance 20 little indie games, worst case is they're all little niche titles, but at least it fills out your thin library. Best case is one of them creates like the next Angry Birds or Minecraft and you have a license to print money all of the sudden.

I think Nintendo is a very relevent player in the industry and should continue to market their product appropriately.  I think your suggestion that they are out of the race and should give up is kinda dumb and very presumptuous without knowing much of anything about the NextBox yet... most of all the price point and exclusive software.

I was referring to like competing for third parties, that's something that Nintendo isn't going to get into a fight with MS with.

The next XBox is going to have basically all the major third party support, we know that already.

not really, Smash Bros. Mario 3D and Mario Kart are all system sellers...

WiiU can sell with Nintendo alone, it's just too expensive now...

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Oh, that's kind of off topic.  The previous comments were about Nintendo stealing MS thunder with a same-day DC or Sony using Twitter.  The "thunder is about public interest, not third party support.  MS isn't wooing support from developers with this meeting.

i agree Nintendo will not have as much 3rd party support as Xbox/PS4 but it will still get decent support. Im thinking similar to GC, it had most of the big multiplats and some very good exclusives. As long as PS360 are supported, i see Wii U getting support which is likely thru 2015, after that its 3rd party support may start to slow.

WOW. The Xbox Reveal showed me that Nintendo and Sony atleast care for their consumers......can't wait for the E3 Directs. If this is the future of gaming I hope Nintendo will be around a long time to counter this consumer unfriendly shit or I will quit being one.
