Well, that "counter" was a poor attempt then.

I don't think Nintendo are childish enough to "counter" another announcement. Leave that to Sony, EA etc.

how is it childish?  It's called respecting your opponent enough to try to counter their news with your own.  Not everyone has to opperate in a vaccum.

Yeah I know, it was a light joke really because I imagine both Nintendo and Sony will be on damage control in a few hours

Nintendo does seem to ignore what their competition does more though.  They have confidence in their IP and their selling power.  Of course I guess they will respond between now and E3 but maybe that was their plan from the start since they're not having a big conference.
