While this actually makes me mad, I understand. Their games do not sell well on Nintendo systems, and only did decent on the Wii. Still, so many Sports games to be missed on the Wii U. Seems like a lot of money to be lost by EA.

But that's the thing - they've obviously crunched the numbers and come to the conclusion that there isn't a lot of money to be lost on the Wii U as of this moment in time.

So this very compentent company wasn´t compentent enough to crunch the numbers before they went on stage and promised unprecedent support?

I just love it when you guys show the level of inteligence you guys have with your comments, you absolutly make sense

FIFA is oddly enough the most played game on my Wii U. More by the virtue of its the only game I play with friends when they come over and I happened to buy the Wii U version to have something to play and because of the off-TV play.

I really wanted NHL on the Wii U this year. Oh well. Was not to be.

It is known.

EA blacklisted Nintendo. The only reason they are making anything for 3DS is its userbase/continual sales force it to in terms of Madden/FIFA contractural agreements. 2014 that will at least be in place for Wii U.

But likely nothing more.

Actually it's more likely that EA crunched the numbers and came to the conclusion that it's not economically viable to develop for the Wii U.

Actually its exactly what I said it is. Look at the quality / presentation / timing of the games EA launched. They set themselves up for failure so they could use those low sales to then quantify the capability to get out of the contractural obligations they have for those titles. But you all go on with your monkeying around with EA and some sort of logic in their actions.

Yes, and mr. superchunk knows better what EA is doing then EA themselves. Ignoarnce, or you are simply blindid by your love of Nintendo.

There is no conspirocy about it. The fact is that the WiiU is not a viable platform for EA content. Some wont care, but judging by the sales of EA games many will, and now building a viable U installbase will be even harder. They always rush out with late ports at every system launch, yet that didnt stop those games from selling from decent to good ammount. The fact is that the WiiUstiny install base is rejecting EA titles.

The question is who is next? Acti? Ubi? Square? TH...oh wait. Its kind off scarry when even the Vita gets more support...

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

I think Activision will bail next if the new Call of Duty puts up poor numbers on the Wii U again.

Ubi Soft will stick around. Square-Enix might be good for 1 or 2 games a year.

EA - Nintendo relationship has always been VERY tense since SNES days. I clearly remember N64 days when we didnt get FIFA 2000 LOL. NO ONE CARED WE WERE PLAYING PERFECT DARKMAJORAS MASK DONKEYKONGWORLDDRIVER THANK YOU

But i kind of hate them after all the money theyve made on Wii...thats really ungrateful from EAs part.

WiiU situation is N64 all over again, which in my book is awesome.

There is no such thing in the gaming industry as gartefullness... it either goes bad or good. Look at how fast publishers jumped away from the PS3 when that was in trouble. The question is: will Nintendo be able to turn it around? releasing Pikmin ina  couple of months is not even a start. Lets hope that this wont make their other majoir releases feel rushed.

Jesus, there must have been a meltdown between Nintendo and EA. That "unprecedented partnership" was not just about Origin I think. Where's actual journalism when you need it?

QFT!

Bolded the important/good part!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I 2nd this. Ubisoft will probably stick around due to their pandering of the Wii U and for general good-relations reasons (investment in the future, as in far future as such) and Square-Enix may stick around for the same reason rather than material profit.

You're so innocent! That's not true unfortunately (and yes, I mean "unfortunately"!). People always make business relations out to be pure rational choices and calculations while in reality they're very emotional stuff. Did you ever read the Steve Jobs biography? The fate of huge corporations depends on the emotional stability and sheer ego of top managers. Business decisions are generally made on the basis of personal affection and a good relation between companies' heads. Most managers act by their guts feeling. I know you're happy Nintendo is being left out (I guess some Nintendo fanboys tick you off and I'm not gonna call you out for that) but this is not a rational business decision. The decision was made *before* the launch of the Wii U. Sometimes between e3 2011 and 2nd half of 2012. They didn't have any hard numbers back then and - as the industry generally had no idea whatsoever why the Wii took off - expected the Wii U to sell well. This decision was made because of some kind of fallout between both companies and we need some actual gaming "journalists" with industry contacts to clarify this. It would be "Nintendogate" haha.

and the usual suspects are cheering...expected !

I said before. The people backing EA in this know exactly who they are and exactly what they're doing.

An admission of honesty from them would also be refreshing. "I want to see Nintendo fail and will rationalize third parties' efforts to that end."

Simple, to the point, and we won't have these endless threads that go nowhere fighting all these people with their "rational business" claims.
