I agree with you completely, I just wanted to put some relativity. Mario Kart is absolutely huge and will be bigger than any PS3, PS4, and Vita title to ever launch in Japan.

Will it? Remember it's releasing on the WiiU. On the 3DS Animal Crossing was bigger then Mario Kart 7. So was Pokemon AND Monster Hunter.

So I don't check this thread for a few days and I get 350+ new posts. At least I read the most recent 3rd. I'm so happy for Mario Kart! I was beginning to get skeptical that it would be a success after DK froze.

Playing Xenoblade 2 before I buy Xenoblade 3 (otherwise I couldn't wait to play 3).

Can they announce a new Fire Emblem? A remake of Genealogy or Tellius would suffice !

All of those series have traditionally done better on handhelds than they have on consoles (I think Wild World was the top selling AC game, right?).

That's true, you did only mention Sony platforms. Still with how weak WiiU sales are, Final Fantasy XV has a shot at outselling MK8.

Dragon Quest VIII also sold 3.61 million units on the PS2.

Still, you're right. Mario Kart 8 will be huge, but still to see it on so early is still amazing. MK is typically not a front loaded game.

What has happened to this thread...kinda wish I never said anything now.

Well looks like a great opening for Dark Souls, and Mario Kart won't be slipping off the chart now which is nice. Mario Party as well from nowhere, pleased for Hatsune Miku also, should be a good week!

Also I'll chime in again on the whole GOOOOO thing. I'm not against it (today would have been the day to do it, actually), but I'm reminded of this time last year with. Luigis Mansion and subsequent games, where you'd see like 8 posts in a row with the same thing celebrating say one point. It's just a little irritating and not really necessary. You don't see other people celebrating other titles which do well in the same vein, so I'm not sure why every little movement deserves it's own massive celebration.

As I say, it's fine and good in moderation. Just don't want to see the needless spamming we saw last year.
