9 Vita games on the list, not hard to see why Vita is doing a much better job keeping up with the 3DS than it did in previous years

Would be amazing for Nintendo collectors if it were a hanafuda deck. Although that might be a little too good to just give amazon...

Take a look at the breakdown of the games to answer that question. Pretty much consists of two things at this point:
- Ports from PS3 titles. You can't port a PS3 game to the 3DS with any ease. You can port a PS3 title to the PSV with extreme ease.
- Games from developers with a long-standing relationship with Sony. These developers (from the current chart, Compile Heart) aim to sell games directly to their fanbase (rather than large segments of the public) and know that their fanbase are more likely to own Sony consoles than Nintendo consoles.
Pretty much sums it up.
And it's been touched on before, but biggest installbase =/= best chance of sales success for every single title. It depends on the game. If you make a game aimed at a certain demographic which consists of, say, 50,000 people - and 49,000 of those 50,000 people own a PSV while 30,000 of those 50,000 people own a 3DS - then it doesn't matter which one has the bigger amount of total owners, what matters is which console that demographic is more likely to own.
Ya know, I wish COMG would give console sales in their weekly. Would be interesting to see!

Some games sell better on Sony platforms than Nintendo ones. And vice versa.
Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

You do realize how huge the differences between those IPs are? Mario Kart is about 15x more popular than both of those series in Japan. It's a lock for 2 million lifetime at least. SAO will be lucky to pass 250k. |
True....still nice to see some love for MK. WiiU needs love.

That's the Vita for you. Their games are on a constant cycle in and out, like a well oiled machine. It shows the market is healthy there, which is nice to see. Now, if only some of that success could be transferred to the West...
Also I was somewhat mocked for my response to MO8 slipping out the charts this week. However that's looking more and more likely now. It's not pessimistic, merely an observation

I know Mario Kart 8 comes out in late May and Island Tour in 6 days, but I feel like crying when I see IT do better than MK8.
