Mario Party ended with 58 points and it just did 142k. At this point, I'll be a bit letdown if BO4 misses 200k.

Super Mario Party ended with 163 points total. The weekly points total that comes out on Sunday is far more important for determining first week sales since it counts not only preorders but also people who bought the game in the first few days it's on sale.

Some games are games where they are heavily pre-ordered (usually these are the more hardcore/otaku focused games which come with pre-order bonuses) but not much sales beyond the pre-orders and some games are casual fare which don't get much pre-orders but get a lot of sales the first few days. That's why for first week sales projections it should be the weekly points chart that are the focus of attention since it captures both types of games.

Yep, this is why I was telling you not to be worried about Mario Party not showing up a few weeks ago, it's not a pre-order heavy series.
