It gaind so much points while beeing so far away from release. Completely forgot about that.

Smash Bros Ultimate has already beaten Super Mario Odyssey (208) and is now 4th place.
Next up is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (265) and Breath of the Wild (268)

I think comparing Splatoon 2 to Smash will be a much closer fight

I hoped my memory was betraying me and it was more than that. (EDIT: Checked, it was 941 points)

And comparing Smash to games that make consistently over 1000 points on Comget like Pokémon or Monster Hunter might be a bit beside the point.

That said, I think a comparison between Smash U and MHW would be nice, considering they're both the most preordered games of their platform (if Smash beats Splatoon 2, of course - but I don't doubt it will). I don't think Smash can come close to the 1600+ of MHW (probably closer to the 1300+ of MHXX on the 3DS), but still...

Very interesting chart! I was wondering how those scores translated into FW sales and thought I'd share with everyone:

SSB 3DS = 1090 = 958,317
SSB Wii U = 278 = 234,041

So if SSBU continues to track ahead of SSB 3DS, we might see a 1 million plus first week in Japan.
