Regarding Market share. ^

Found some other numbers. Latest known FY revenue was £29m (probably Q2 2011 - Q1 2012, since I got it from an April article).
So market share for 2011 was 1,2% instead of 0,9% using the UKIE report.

Unfortunately I don't see a UKIE report for 2012.

A Newzoo report has 2011 at £3.6bn, so Shopto.net had 0,6% there (actually lower, see reason below).
For 2012 Newzoo has £3.8bn, so 1,1% for Shopto (again lower)
Apparently Newzoo only counts games and not hardware. On the other hand they track digital sales, which UKIE doesn't.

Anyway reports from different groups shouldn't really be compared to each other as they use completely different measurements.

Activision has the right to release their product whenever they want. Asking them to release on a Friday instead of Tuesday is ridiculous.

Not having COD: Ghosts up for pre-order will do them more harm than good.

looks like CoD doesn't make them any money:

"Unfortunately, our experience with the Call Of Duty series in the past four years is that our campaigns have been extremely difficult to engender a supportable level of customer satisfaction and in regards to profit, a complete failure.

"Because of the highly competitive nature of the market we have been unable to make any profit. But added to this, what really hurt us (and therefore our customers' satisfaction) was that we have been unable to guarantee 99 per cent delivery by the release date.

lol shopto. Anything for publicity.

Yeah sure boycott the biggest game of the year

well, get a better postal service then. if someone sends something to me i almost always get it the next day.

the problem is, they will lose revenue and profit but activion won't since people will buy the game anywhere else instead.
