Good point, you're right. Nintendo waited over 20 years before making a true successor to Super Mario World, and when they did, the game was fresh and original, with great level design and new gameplay elements.

i'm just making the point that lilchicken's comment is very ironicc

I have a question for you:

Do you realize how your blatant cherry picking reflects on your reputation for being able to bring up a valid point in other discussions?

I don't spend too much time on this site, so I have not run into you here before. Now though I have created a little cache in my vgchartz mind where I have stored your avatar, funy username and the comment "does not seem capable of rational debate". Perhaps this is unfair of me, but that's the way it goes. The next time (God forbid) I see something you post on this site, my immidiate thought will be "this guy doesn't think through his points very well" and you'll have a much harder time convincing me that I should take what you have to say seriously.

Now, you might very well say: I don't give a %$##@! what some pompus dickhead on vgchartz thinks, but I am going by the assumption that the majority of people on this site are able to see the lack of coherent reason behind your posts here and will make similar notes in their minds. Perhaps this is your intent, perhaps not. Thus my question.

lol well i must say sir your impression of me troubles me very deeply...

i shall now hang my head in shame and report immediately to a psychiatrist

ironically though its amusing that you had nothing relevant to add to the point i was making lol

if you ask me you should follow your own advice... or are you more of a do as i say not what i do guy?

Why would I need to add anything to the point you are trying to make? Didn't I already state that it's apparent to many that it's not a very well thought out or well reasoned proposition? Also, keep in mind that I didn't give you any advice, I asked you a question.

What did you expect EA to do? Change the way Football is played?

Since the game requires so little effort, they could just, y'know, not charge $60 for it. There's no reason most EA Sports games can't just be a $10 patch of last year's game. "Oh, I see you bought Madden '10 last year. Would you like to update to Madden '11 for $9.99?"

I am sure they need to renew their license with the NFL every 4 years or so. They also need to pay each player in order to use their name in game (Which is why there are no names in college football titles), logos, etc...

It isn't exactly a roster update and nothing more. Plus, while the changes are sometimes subtle, there usually are changes made, whether it be in the tackling system or running system.

because as someone who is trying to advise me to engage in rational debate its expected that when you reply to one of my posts, that you'll have points to add that either contradict or reinforce my point depending on your stance for the topic

or do you consider rational debate to instead of consisting of the above to consist of attacking someone who you disagree with?

lol as i said previously your actions from your very first post are contradicting the very point you tried to make in the same post

lol has that occured to you yet?

Next time bring some sources please, because you made that up about CryEngine 3 ( http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/06/20/crytek-cryengine-3-beautiful-on-wii-u ). UE4 is a scalable engine so that even phones can run them. Like I already said; EA isn't even trying to get us believe them a LITTLE bit. They don't deserve respect in any form until they simply convince not wanting to develop for Wii U because of the missing audience who prefers original games over the same generic shooter over and over again. Blaming the Wii U power as an excuse is just disgusting.

lol ok

Thats kinda a dumb comparison, I admit they have milked 2D Mario by releasing 3DS and Wii U versions ao closely but the first NSMB was the first 2D Mario in 15 years and the Wii version the first console 2D Mario in 18 years. On the other hand we've had I beleive 9 CODs in as many years.

nah whats dumb is bringing up CoD when it was never mentioned in the first place

and hang on there weren't 2d mario games released between the one for wii and super mario world?

Sorry I saw generic shooter and thats thr first thing I thought of but no there were none besides the rereleases on GBA which were all originally released 10-15 years earlier

ok my bad i wasn't aware

Don't look now, but you are defending EA's practice of releasing nearly identical products annually at full price for nearly every possible platform while turning a blind eye to complaints about Nintendo releasing new products with entirely original level designs every few years on alternating platforms at the same price.

By the way, weren't the 2K NFL games (while they lasted) released at less than full price?

the thing is though that lilchicken was reffering to shooters from EA and imo they differ more than platformers from nintendo have done over the years

Please show me where I did this. If anything I defended the argument that Nintendo hasn't done another proper 2D Mario since the SNES when I responded about the GBA only releasing recycled older titles packaged up as "Super Mario Advance".

I only butted into that conversion you were having because I honestly thought using a sports title wasn't the best of comparisons since you can't really just go ahead and change how the NFL plays Football.

That was a defense of Nintendo? It didn't read like one. Your only comment on the matter was that they recycled older games on GBA.

You can't change how football is played, but you can change how you distribute your product. Again, I'm pretty sure 2K managed to release their games at less-than-full retail price. And then there's this disaster.

So if it isn't a defense it obviously isn't also turning a blind eye since I wasn't in here complaining about it to begin with.

I didn't advice you to do anything. I asked you a question, the question was if you are aware of your posting pattern and the weakness of the argument or not. The reason why I ask is because I want to know if you are trolling, or just not very adapt at seeing the logical concluisons of statements.

Unless it's not clear, I have not entered into the current debate about platformers vs. sports franchises or whatver the discussion has evolved to by now. There's no point for me to point out why your argument is inconsistent and unreasonable, others have already done a fine job of that anyway if you were wondering what I was refering to.

It seems that you have misunderstood the entire premise of what I was asking, let me condense it down to a level that might be more appropriate:

You trollin', bro?
