Well Wii is already emulated and WiiU is similar enough, there will be Dolphin builds running soon I'm inclined to believe.

The Wii U GPU is absolutely nothing like the Wii's. We won't seeing Latte emulation any time soon.

Not going to happen, since Dolphin doesn't contain a single line of code from Nintendo there are no grounds for legal action.

Im maybe expecting around 500k WW sales for Bayo 2. Pretty good for an exclusive game on a console with a shaky future ahead of it in my opinion. Hopefully its enough for Platinum to profit.

Platinum already profited. Nintendo will pay dev costs. Nintendo will be the one to take a loss if it does poorly.

AFAIK there is no legal ground. The devs wrote 100% of the code themselves and did not infringe any of Nintendo's copyrights. Dolphin is a completely legal emulator :D

Yes, I know. That's why I asked. I'm somewhat tired of people that equal emulators and jailbreaks with piracy.

yep yep. Nintendo is shielding Platinum from any financial risk. It seems Nintendo has a lot of faith in them as developers. Publishing two titles form an independent studios is unlike nintendo.

Right. While it is quite possible that it is easy to emulate Espresso (with all signs pointing towards being a multicored version of the Broadway), Latte is a very odd duck, and the GPGPU elements are probably going to take a while for folks to wrap their heads around.

And if the haters have to buy actual Wii Us to play pirated versions, it still sort of works out for Nintendo
