I stopped caring about Valve and HL3, Portal 2 was the last game i bought from them, don't like counter-strike, and don't care about dota 2

2k Is not Rockstar's parent company. Take-Two Interactive is. They own 2 gaming division: 2k Gaming and Rockstar Gaming.

E3 is not nearly as big as it used to be, skipping it won't have a dramatic effect on anything Valve does, they are likely keeping things to themselves until closer to fall.
Besides, there are plenty of other large events to show off your product and ideas.

I am a tad surprised that Nintendo decided to pull out though, a lot of people were hoping to hear some good news from them, there can be no doubt that they need to at least say something very soon.

Nintendo didn't pull out. They are not having their before show press conference. Instead they are doing three different presentations. One for their business partners, one for the press, and one or more for the fans/news whores in the form of a "special" Nintendo Direct(s).

Reporting these days is pretty bad, maybe I should try my hand at it since apparently these days you don't have to be accurate just recycle what you think you heard.

But yeah, Nintendo just isn't going to pay the E3 heads a massive amount to rent space for a press conference, they will still no doubt have announcements around E3, they have demos for fans and media to try but they aren't going to try to impress the reporters by making a large show of things, which is probably going to be the standard outside of hardware announcements, given the rising costs of everything and the limited returns you are to get compared to just standard hyping the media provides.
