Like Nintendo and 2K Games, Valve has stated it has no plans to exhibit at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. That said, it’s not like the company has a reputation as a prolific attendee in recent times.

While we’ve all been focused on statements by the big N and 2K, Valve made it known earlier this month that it, too, will be giving arguably the industry’s largest live event a miss.

Community news site ValveTime posted the following tweet, which contains a screencap of an email from Doug Lombardi, Valve’s vice-president of marketing:

It’s not really that surprising. In 2012, the company attended the event but chose not to show anything, which is basically the same story for 2011, too.

all of them are non factors except Nintendo

I wouldnt have even realized 2k and Valves absences if i didnt read about it here..

I don't think Valve usually does big things at E3 anyway?

2k and Valve? Who cares. If someone like EA or Ubisoft pulled from the show then it would matter.

Valve have never really done E3 tho, the only times they are there is if their publisher demands it. And since Valve don't need a publisher any more don't expect them to be at E3. Next someone will pretend that Blizzard not being at E3 is news.

Tho I do think that E3 is dying

Wait, what?  Nintendo is exhibiting at E3, same as always.  They're just changing how they deliver their software information.  They're doing multiple events instead of one giant press conference.  They have the same presence and booths at the expo this year as they have every year.
