Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Iwata Is Aware That People Believe That WiiU Is Underpowered And Says This Is A Misunderstanding

It's because he is considering the other consoles to be over powered. That's fine but the Wii U is the exception, not the norm so that doesn't quite match with reality. It will take some time to extract the power in the Wii U, but consoles like the PS4 will start out much better than even an optimized Wii U.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Sometimes Iwata is really such a moron, shut up talking Iwata just pay 3rd developers to make games for wiiu or give them other benefits to work with you, microsoft and sony built up 3rd relations the same way at first.

Nintendo really thinks 3rd developers should make games for them because they are such nice guys, this is business no one cares how much power the wiiu has it has definetly enaugh to make great games so just give the damn 3rd developers the same benefits Sony and Ms gave them, then they will start to make games for your consoles.

Well releasing with an awfully slow OS doesn't help. When they have a really fast OS combined with a game that couldn't be done on PS360 it will look far more appealing. Of course they really needed to do this before PS4 and 720 were out.

people argued that PS360 games "can be done" on Wii - there will never be a real consensus that a WiiU game couldn't be done on PS360 imo, but I expect them to look cleaner/crisper and have a better frame rate on WiiU

The powah is to be unleashed this E3.

Why doesn't Nintendo try to develop hot new franchises? Always have to leave it up to third party. Its like they've gone stagnant in new IP development since the 90's. The N64 was the last great IP heavy console.

Please understand.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

That's true. They would need something that is graphically impressive as well as something that can only be done with the GamePad. Maybe some sort of strategy game?

Hm.. I think they might be overwhelmed with all the games their fanbase expects to see from them and instead of taking the risk with a totally new IP they rather implement some new mechanics/slight twists in new games for an existing IPs.

He fails to mention the consoles that most people WiiU is underpowered compared to. WiiU being underpowered compared to PS4 and most likely Nextbox isn't a misunderstanding, it's fact.

The PS2 is not underpowered when is not compared to anything else.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

That was the argument, until they annonce what they will do at e3, or should I say what they will not do: having a proper e3 presentation.
