Forums - Microsoft - Crackdown 2 over 1m sold?

So I was planning on buying the game soon so I looked up the sales for it, over 1m sold? I might be going crazy but wasn't it like .50 or .75 not that long ago?! lol

The game was pretty much known as a sales failure, if VGC is close to the real numbers I'd say it did decently well.

Eh, I was a big fan of the original, but I think 2 was very mediocre. I recommend you pass on it.

I disagree with the thetonestarr. I didn't enjoy it as much as the original, but its a fun game.

I started playing it again a few months ago and was had a blast. I get rid of a lot of games after I played them, but Crackdown 1 and 2 are staying in my collection.

You can get a used copy for under $10.

Some people were apparently expecting big sales for a B tier game. I can't imagine MS even had high expectations.

Its not like they had another Halo beta pushing it and it wasn't much of an improvment over the original.

It was quite a while ago when it was around 750K. I have followed its sales (dont ask me why lol). It's been just under a million for a long time too. I do not know when it passed a million.

VGC sales tracking, the system and statistics is that all games continue to sell nearly forever but progressively less. But sometimes something disturbs the equation so those "legs" sales might become unrealistically high, which in the long run adds up to a substantial number of overtracking.

crackdown and crackdown 2 were excellent games, unfortunatly they didnt catch on which is a shame as devs really put hard work into those.

its also to note that they ws very visually accomplished look at some physics demos for crackdown on Utube.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Crackdown 2 > Crackdown IMO.

Pretty much improves on everything and adds new weapons, orbs, enemies & multiplayer without taking anything away.
It might be a bit disappointing if you played Crackdown 1 before as it's pretty much the same, but newcomers to the series should definitely start with Crackdown 2.

Those numbers are pretty much spot on and it still sold over 500K less then the first one and I'm sure they where hoping that it would sell more then the first one. Might try it out someday I liked the first one and got it for a steal bought it near mint used for $2.99.

I thought the second one was ok. Nowhere near the quality of the amazing original, but still a fun game.

While sales were decent we have to remember that Crack Down 1 had the Halo 3 Beta with it. So that was atleast partially the reason why the first enjoyed such good sales. Crackdown 2 was given no such preferential treatment.

Long Live SHIO!
