to me PS3 surpass X360 is just sooner or later...
if its lifetime worldwide sales can surpass Wii then really is a great challenge...

To which I say, compare ANY console to PS2 and it'll look bad.  Hell look at that marketshare.  Did you really think MS wouldn't gain some ground especially when the PS3 price was announced and it came out 5 million behind?  Of course they would.  I didn't think they would gain this much and Kinect gave them a second wind in 2011 but now that's dying out and PS3 is still going strong which is something to be proud of considering what a disaster it was until 08 or so.

Excuses after excuses, it's going to be fun when the failure of the PS3 pass the sussessful xbox 360. 

For PS3 to pass the success of Xbox 360... its gonna need to be profitable.

Most? I expect there to be slight bitterness when it happens from the majority of the ones im aware of.

By September or October the PS3 should be equal or ahead of the XBox 360. It will take around 5 to 6 months of the PS3 outselling the X360 by 40 to 50,000 units per week to reduce the remaining 1 million sales gap. Mission accomplished.

Let's get all this talk about whether the PS3 is more successful out of the thread please. That is not what is being discussed nor should it be in this thread. All were discussing is when and if the ps3 passes the 360 and the current gap between the two.

There was a time when people cared.

It saddens me reading through old threads like that, seeing so many familiar posters with their own unique personalities and posting styles that are now gone or banned. All the avatars and sigs carefully chosen to reflect what a poster wanted to portray, now sealed away in the recesses of vgchartz, like virtual statues that collect no dust, only fade from memory with the passing of time into complete obscurity. Their accounts show only the history of a passing interest that at one point abruptly ended. Shining a light in there is like revisiting an old classroom as an adult you spent years in as a teen. You read a few posts and get a 'feel' for what the website was like back then, the topics, the predictions, the banter.

So much changes with time and so many forget.

Apologies for the melancholy rant btw, I'm in a weird mood.

You're not in a weird suicidal mood, are you?  If so, life is worth it, man, it is worth it. 

I agree with you, though.  Miss some of the old faces and the heated debates.  Now that the gen is winding down, it's not quite as exciting.  I hope next gen pumps some new life not only into the industry, but this site, as well.  I'm sure it will.
