Can't hurt to have Nintendo games on Android exclusively. If that happened I'd finally have a reason to get a smartphone.

Sure this is more going of the "3rd party route", but it's just stupid not to realize that Nintendo could potentially make a lot of $$ by releasing something similar to Virtual console on mobile platforms. 

A Nintendo made OS would be horrid though.

oh alright I see your point. Nintendo platformrers like mario would be a great fit for tablets and is a good way for nintendo to enter that market. I thought you were going the nintendo os route and trying to compete with the others.

Nintendo being with Google won't happen. Nintendo being with Samsung is probably a 1 in 100 chance.

OT: Apple already took Sony's spot. Nintendo and Apple are the main Handheld's (I use this term loosely when talking about Apple) in the market.

I kinda wish it could happen. 

I'll get getting a Samsung phone in the future anyways. Besides both of them have Sony as competition (Though in Samsung's case it's more Apple.)

I personally hope it never happens. I want my dedicated Handheld to be a dedicated Handheld.

For me I think that it has to happen if Nintendo really wants to try and tap into Korea. (And being a Korean myself this would be awesome.)

They share the same subway culture, the commute, but they all have smartphones and not handhelds. Not to mention a lot of oldern Koreans still don't buy stuff from Japanese companies so they need a domestic angle in order to really penetrate. Maybe not now, but I COULD see it happen even though there's basically no chance.

You can't play them with control sticks or physical buttons, though.  And that market is extremely fragmented.  There are hundreds of different models of Android/ iOS devices, and no uniformity whatsoever.  Companies releasing high-quality graphics-intensive games have to deal with the reality that most of the owners of those devices have ones from 2011 or 2010 or even earlier, and that they'd need to upgrade to a more powerful device to play the best of the best.  Not to mention there is no uniform control pad made available either by Apple or Android device manufacturers, so the number of people who can play first-person shooters or games like that is limited to the extremely tiny userbase of people with those weird control pad/ button attachments.

Well, Nintendo just implemented a price drop for 3DS in Korea, and announced some new games to be released there.  I think they are hoping to achieve some level of market awareness where if word of mouth of 3DS in Korea grows, then their next handheld has more potential than before.  Also, Wii U could eventually grow into a moderately-successful console there.

Once the Vita gets a price drop, it will sell and we'll see more support for the system.

Even if the Vita doesn't sell amazing numbers, as long the system doesn't lose money for Sony, then it could potentially be looked at as a success. Look at Nintendo with the N64 and Gamecube. As poorly as the two consoles sold, Nintendo didn't lose money with them, they just didn't gain nearly as much as they would have liked.  Just like Nintendo releasing consoles after two that sold poorly compared to the competition, I can see Sony still releasing future portables.

Pretty sure Nintendo actualy lost $$ on GC, just that it was nicely masked by immense GBA profits.
