Forums - Gaming - Will Nintendo have their handheld throne contested again? Or is Vita the last..

It'll be Sony's last handheld console, IMO. After the sucessful Xperia Play and Vita's low sales, no doubt their next portable will be a smartphone.

Xperia Play wasn't actually successful...

Vita will be going head-to-head with the 3DS in a few years. The handheld has tons of potential and Sony still has some cards to play.

This is optimistic. Besides a price cut, what cards? And no I don't think PS4 connectivity is a big selling point.

1. Price Cut
2. Slim revision
3. Phone and/or Tablet model.(Galaxy Note seems to be doing well considering its size)

I'm not saying the Vita will ever outsell the 3DS, not lifetime. I'm not even saying it'll be successful in every single region. All I'm saying is that its too early to be calling it a failure. Sony hasn't even tried to revive this thing yet.

It blows my mind how many people seem to think this phone/tablet model thing is actually a good idea when it is obviously such a really, really terrible idea. I mean seriously.

Xperia Play IS a phone. I don't get the joke.
