Is the 3DS hurting Wii U sales?

Yes all Nintendos focus seems to be on 3DS 40 38.10%
 
No a handheld wont effect home console sales 47 44.76%

NSMB2 cut into NSMBU as did OoT3D to Shyward Sword. (Both 3DS titles released months before.)

3DS has all the "Nintendo experience" you possibly need.


and its about to get even more, anyone who wants the nintendo experience should just buy a 3DS. 3d mario, 2d mario, 3d zelda, 2.5D zelda, mario kart, pokemon, mario party, luigi's mansion, that mario RPG, fire emblem and monster hunter. 3ds is just a beast and its victim is the WiiU

western 3rd parties seem to have abandoned handhelds as a whole, the amount of games released on consoles is far suprior to the ones released on handhelds. its not like nintendo ever needed them in the portable market anyway. sony on the other hand, well their position is just umm.... lol

To me its two different markets.

I don't think they provide the same experience in most cases. However, the new Zelda title has really changed my thoughts on a portable console.

but is it really two different markets? you have the 2d mario's, the zelda's, the mario karts and the 3d mario's as the main system sellers. the fans of these games will at look at these two consoles and chose on for their gaming needs. since the 3ds has the same games, is cheaper and has much more games, its only natural for anybody who wants a new nintendo console to pick one up over the WiiU

The 3DS isnt the issue, its the publisher/developer (Nintendo in other words) who is pretty much not focusing on the Wii-U (lack of announcements/discussions) along with the lack of third party support + the fierce competition in terms of software + bundles/deals.


the reasons the WiiU isnt selling are many. too much to even post now. but i believe that the 3DS is only making things worse. honestly its like a portable WiiU at the moment.

All it needs is Retro Studios (MK7 doesn't count.)

It does give the impression Nintendo has practically abandoned the Wii U and is all about the 3DS.
