Which is exactly why the market should still be Nintendo and Sega. Because they were both GAME companies, not giant corporate conglomerates that decided to open gaming divisions. The industry was much better off, in my view, back when it was LESS mainstream (not for the reasons most would probably assume), and dominated by companies whose lifeblood was video games. It wasn't just something in their giant portfolio, that they could "afford to lose money on".

There's nothing wrong with your statement except for the "more varied games for the 20+ age group" comment.

This notion was old back during the SNES/Genesis days. There are certainly many games that kids shouldn't be playing (that includes FPS games in my humble opinion). But when it comes to full grown ADULTS? The only way someone has a maturity issue, is IF they feel there is some game that they're "too old for". If you enjoy something you enjoy it, period.

The PS3 is played by a steader group of older gamers who who actively buy the console for all intended purposes. It was the first steady multimedia choice before the Xbox came and it delivered all the hit titles one could want. Nintendo has always had the stigma of being the kiddy console and they will always have it, unless they change their outlook on pro children and families. Sony titles tend me be more mature in style and direction aimed at an older audience. Their shooters have more mature content. Microsofts shooter in Halo appeals to kids with its Sci-fi art style which appeals can appeal to teenagers to adults. Hell even kids want to play COD today. That game sells like hot cakes and its mostly kids buying that.

When they did make consoles........ their first party line up was exceptional, and even though they no longer make consoles, they still deliver some fantastic games every now and then.

Well...my favorite system is my pc, but if I had to choose it would be a tie between Nintendo and Sony. Sony because it has the Persona series and some other exclusives, and Nintendo because of the SMT series moving there and Monster Hunter. Xenoblade is also one of my favorite games of all time, also because The Last Story too. Zelda is pretty awesome as well.
