I like Sony the best. Every gen they introduced something new, and don't linger on pass franchises for too long. But they also have the tried and true games such as wipe out and GT that keep me hooked for the entire gen even when things get a bit stale. They are the fall back games that I never tire of. They also make the best controller out of the 3. They stay true to the gamer first and casuals second. And most importantly they've grown up with me.

Sony because they have powerful hardware which them lets them make amazing 1st party games and have great 3rd party support. I couldn't ask for anything more. Also, Sony is a great company as they have stuff like free PSN and Playstation Plus.

My favorite console maker is deciding what direction the industry will take. It introduced HD console gaming, gave us in-game rewards for completing tasks and changed online play forever. Best of all, they have crumbled archetypes and made the arrogant fearful for the future.

They are also the only real venue for shmups!

I like Nintendo because, quite frankly, they still care about their fans. They make VIDEO GAMES, even their newest, shiniest 3D titles have that "old school" quality to them, something that is sorely lacking in most modern games that I see. I like Nintendo because their consoles at least try to be innovative. And honestly, especially with the Wii U, while I got enjoyment out of the Wiimote and motion controls, I actually would argue that the GamePad idea brings a lot more to the table, potentially speaking. I certainly like the controller itself more, even though I still have an avid love for playing the many 2D Wii titles with the Wiimote NES style.

And that's another thing, I liked the Wii because it gave you so many control options, from Wiimote NES style, to Wiimote, to Wiimote/Nunchuk, GC controller, Wavebird, or Classic Controller. That was nice. And even Wii U still gives options between the GamePad, Wiimote/Nunchuk, Classic Controller, Pro Controller, whatever. It's a nice touch that older consoles didn't have, and the competition hasn't matched.

I like Nintendo because they make more than just some variety of 3rd or 1st person shooter. I like them because out of all the BIG companies left, they're just about the only one who thinks outside the box and still makes games that FEEL like games, not playable cinematic scenes. Don't get me wrong, some of those types of games can be cool. But it just gets old. I don't always want "reality" in my gaming. I miss the days when cartoony or outlandish or totally ridiculous themes and settings were the norm, instead of trying so damn hard to "be like the movies". Games don't need to be "art". They just need to be fun to fuckin' play.

At least that's how I feel. And this is coming from someone who owns a PS2, PS3 and PC.

Their 1st/2nd party games.

Sony because they have non proprietary memory on PS3 and because of free online. Also plus is the greatest subscription I've had by far and I've enjoyed hundreds of dollars worth of content despite only having it for 8 months.

The main thing of course is that they have most of my favorite developers. Insomniac has made 4 of my favorite games of all time on PS platforms exclusively (R3, R&C:ACiT, R&C3, R&C2). From Infamous to Sly to Uncharted to Crash to Spryo to Ratchet to Killzone (not as much but great as far as FPS goes) to Resistance (3 mainly) to LBP to GoW to Jak to Journey to Flower to Heavy Rain to most MGS games to a few that I'm surely forgetting PS platforms always give me my favorite games in their respective gens and they're almost always exclusives. Over half my PS3 library is exclusives and I still have LoU, Puppeteer, and Beyond to add to it as well as Guacamele digitally. Just too much awesomeness for me to keep paying for is my only complaint lol

You can't really chose! The best polls are ones that give you an answer to chose from that is close if not exact to the answer you would give.

I could have answered yes to a number of the above. But I chose the 'other' one so I could explain this.

this too.  I do love the DS design and the fact that they leave franchises like Jak behind to try something new (that being said I hope ND goes back at some point or makes a new fantasy world).  Nintendo innovates within a big franchise to bring something awesome and of course refines things like platforming to perfection over 25 years.  Sony gives us big cinematic adventures as well as pure gaming and gives me the new franchises that change the way I play each gen.  That's why I always get those 2.  Also Sony is normally my SP and (rarely) online MP company while Nintendo is some single but mostly local MP company.  Nintendo is great for having people over with games like Mario Kart and SSB but I still give the edge to Sony because I simply like those deep stories and just the mix of gameplay types and volume of titles better on PS.  I'll be getting a WiiU though as the best part about Nintendo is always the price :)

I like Sony the best. They have great hardware, great exclusives, great online service, and usually focus on the core gamer.

I also like Nintendo too, they do things their own way, which I think is great, I just wish they would make powerful hardware. Also i'm not the biggest gan of Mario, and that seems to be what Nintendo likes pushing the most. I'm a huge pokemon fan though, but yeah I like Sony the best.

Sony, they are like the jack of all trades and i like that, sure its not the sexiest thing. But if you want motion gaming they got, free online, fantastic 3rd party support. There pretty much isnt anything that the others offer that they dont in some way shape or form. Best 1st party support, yes Best IMHO. They support their systems way longer than anyone else does theres long after they've peaked usually. They give people money on their PSN accounts for no freaking reason, dont know who else is doing that.
