Next gen consoles seperate announcement.

Either that, or they think a Wii U version simply isnt worth the port costs.

EA doesn't consider Wii U next gen.

Still butt hurt over not taking Origin and not wanting to give any support due to the added effort needed to make ports live up to the console compared to just waiting on the systems Sony and Microsoft are likely to drop between this winter and next year.

No WiiU version because EA is blacklisting Nintendo. I don't understand why this is still a mystery to people.

What did Nintendo do to piss off one of the largest video game publshisers in the world?

EA was initially jazzed about Wii U because they were working on a plan with Nintendo whereby EA would power the fledgeling Nintendo Network, and according to rumor, Nintendo did not like the terms EA set for that (namely that Origin would be the sole provider for all Nintendo online games) and pulled out, which made EA get all pissy and either dilute support (like the kick in the teeth that was the Wii U version of Mass Effect 3) or drop it altogether.

None of that is confirmed though. Just rumors.

The announcement clearly states "more platforms to be announced later".

Do you really think they will only add PS4 and 720?

I think EA wouldn't mind the cash with an easy port for both PSV and Wii U.

I saw an article on 4gamer that states FIFA 14 will be releasing on PS3/Xbox360/PSP/PS Vita. If the vita part is true, then not releasing on Wii U would have nothing to do with number of hardware sold. EA probably won't support Wii U until it has a large install base.

What? If it has nothing to do with hardware sold, why would they support WiiU with a larger install base?

The vita has about the same install base as the Wii u, yet it might be getiing Fifa 14. So maybe EA doesn't want to support Nintendo. But if Wii U's install base gets large enough they will release their titles. After all EA is a buisness. it's not black and white.

By support, I meant EA's sports titles, becuase EA sports games release on as much platforms as possible.

Arent they like, 100% contract-bound with FIFA to release the game on every available platform?

Isnt that part of the deal in having the license for it? I thought it simply had to be available on everything viable. Wii U is viable. According to the VGC database, they even released FIFA 13 on PS2...

There is no proof of any of that

No proof otherwise either, besides increasing negative reports of EA's support of the system before launch.

I went ahead and crossed out all the new features because even if there was a Wii U version they wouldn't be included due to a less than 6 month development cycle.

Damn, burn.

Now this is bad for Wii-U in major European territories.
