I have the Xperia T and I wish I would have waited for the Z since T is only dual core and not water proof. People tend to like the S4 but I'm not sure what that phone is offering on top of what Android offers, which the Z will have like media apps, such as walkman. And don't forget that PlayStation Mobile is available on Xperia phones, which will let you access Sony's new game and app storefront that is compatible with PS Vita and most likely with the PS4.

Here is a comparison that has S4 winning in an 8 point battle, winning in Processor, Storage, and OS; while losing in Design and tying in Connectivity, Camera, Display, and Dimensions.

No doubt the S4 has a strong processor, but the storage win is shallow in that the S4 has 16/32/64GB options and the Z only 16GB, but both can take MicroSD cards to expand storage. The S4 does have the 4.2 OS while the Z has 4.1.2 but the Z is upgrading to 4.2 later. The S4 does have the Samsung TouchWiz user interface if you like that kind of thing instead of the straight Android UI set up.

They tied on Connectivity, Camera, and Display. Connectivity is practically the same except the S4 does have Infared, whatever that does. Camera might be tied but the Z does has slightly higher MPixel count and probably better patented software for stabilization and autofocus but I would test them in person. The S4 added some extra camera features that the author says are kind of pointless, so I don't know. Display wise the Z has a slightly larger screen but they both have the same pixel density. The S4 has an AMOLED screen which should be brighter and use less battery but the color might be kind of off.

Xperia Z won in design and it really does look sexy. Best of all it is waterproof. What a perk right?

This comparison does not touch on Battery or on Price. So make sure to take that into account. Both phones run off contract at $650, contract price can vary. Battery wise the Z does 550 hours standby, 11 hours of talk, and 40 hours of music while the S4 hasn't released its battery life it does have a larger battery...but that processor might mean it isn't going to last as long as the Z.

Since I'm absolutely loving my Xperia T, I'd go with the Z as it is just an awesome better version of the T. It all depends on what you find more important and what you like better if you can test them out at a store.

I've gone from Iphone 4s and S2 to Xperia Z.

The phone is damn right awesome and it is probably the best phone I have owned to date.

In terms of processing, the One, Z and S4 are about the same with.

In terms of design, one could argue it is subjective, however, the Z IMO just looks amazing.

In the end, I chose to go for the Z due for a very simple reason - build quality.

I have had Iphone's smash on me and I have had the S2 do the same. Yes, I know you can buy covers etc, but at times, they don't help.

The fact the Z is water proof and 4 times stronger that gorilla glass used by rival handsets, it made it a no brainer for me and it does all this and still remains to be beautiful.

Also, if you buy the Z or any NFC Android phone, I recommend buying the Sony Smart watch and the Sony SRS BTM8 speaker.

The Sony Smart watch is only about £65 online and it connects to the phone. Unlike the pebble which is black and white retails at around £400 for Iphone, this is not only cheaper but offers far more apps.

The Sony SRS BTM* speaker is not only portable, but it has NFC, wireless and bluetooth. You can play music using any of the above, but more importantly, it has a built in speaker which also allows you to answer calls.

I would buy the one, but what about a nokia lumia?

I have not even checked out the nokia lumia...is it any good?

And I have been researching that's why I have not replied to anyone and from the looks I think I might just go ahead and go with the Xpheria Z. The tech in the HTC One is better but I like the style and apps that come with the Xpheria Z better so far. Along side the look of course.

The Lumia 920 is a fantastic phone. Its probably the best Windows phone, and one of the better phones in market alongside the Iphone, and the top end Android devices. You should experiement with one and see if you like the feel of the Windows OS. If you do, then I'd recomend you get it. The only the disadvantages of the phone I think are probably the few apps (in comparison to Android and App store) and the weight of the phone (its 180g, but it has an extremely strong build). A few months ago I was considering getting it, but I chose the Iphone 5 mainly cause I wanted to play games on my phone, although now I regret getting the Iphone. 

The nokia lumia 920 is a good fit if you are invested in Microsoft services etc. It syncs very easily with outlook etc.

But based on my limited time with the phone, i was really not impressed. The phone itself is decent although its quite heavy. But im not a fan of the OS and the camera is weird. Shoots great stills in the night but then has pathetic video capture in the night...its a mixed bag imo.

But thats just me. Some people love windows phone 8.

HTC seems to be the best option and I'm leaning towards it right now. Xperia Z is good and all but the display is meh, the most important part for me.

Nokia Lumia 920 is fantastic if you don't mind not having too many apps. Seriously it's by far the best Windows phone on the market and one of the best I've ever used. If you want an Android then I'll agree with the Xperia Z, it looks amazing.
