Lack of focus, the system is just not interesting enough. The feature that was set to revolutionize the way we play games already exists for years: tablets.

iPad =/= gamepad

The iPad came out long before the gamepad, the gamepad looks like a tablet, what was supposed to set it apart from the rest of the consoles already exists. Thats why there is no interest in the WiiU. Wii had Wiimote, it was something new. Gamepad apparently isn't.

lol @ idiots who voted "Underpowered", after this generation showed otherwise...

I didnt see many wii owners 'laughing out loud' when they missed out on game after game and watched their console die one of the slowest deaths ever. Meanwhile the "idiots" enjoyed...

Mass Effect Triliogy, Resident Evils 5 & 6, Final Fantasy 13, DMC, Fallout, Skyrim, COD...

There are plenty more 3rd party games that Wii missed. Yeah, Nothing to do with being "underpowered". The fact that both PS360 are outlasting it and thrashing its succesor Speaks volumes about the Wii's shortcomings.

Your comment just seems childish. I own a Wii, it had great games but i will never fool myself into trying to paint it flr more than it was.

Games or GTFO

I think ppl just don't know what they are missing. I watch movies while i'm doing dishes now. Streamed from my pc.

People have been able to do that long before the WiiU. They have tablets. Before that people had a TV in the dining room or wherever they eat, which is usually right next to the kitchen. Watching tv while doing household chores like dishes is nothing new or exclusive to the WiiU.

OT: I voted the game pad.

Excuse me, I stream my movies FROM MY PC to my gamepad, positioned in back of my sink..  How exactly do you do that with a tablet or a tv again?

I take it you don't have a tablet? (Serious question)

There are a plethora of applications that allow you to stream from your PC client to your iOS and/or Android smartphone or tablet.

I have been doing this for years.

This article from PCWorld illustrates how you could stream from your PC to your iPad and this is back in 2011. So like I said, it is nothing new and it isn't exclusive to WiiU.

A simple google search would have shown you.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

You need to edit your poll to include an option for "all of the above" with the exception of the iOS/Android/Steam one... that has no effect on console sales, especially those of Nintendo.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

With ipad, for example, i can watch telly without having the PC on at all. Just download the app. I use BBC Iplayer or 4OD. TV Catchup is a good one, gives you most of the freeview channels. Or sky sports for the Live footy (just register your sky account).

I'll give you more than one reason:

Lack of planning.

Over confidence that another 2D Mario game and Nintendoland would be evergreen titles and push system sales.

Gamepad? Really? That's just another 3DS. Far from revolutionary. Not even interesting. How many touchscreen game devices Nintendo wants to sell?

4 Gamecubes duct taped together.

too many things atm that are causing the lack of sales.

I guess if I had to pick one it would be games from 1st AND 3rd party.

I think for android you can do that with Plex.
