People have been able to do that long before the WiiU. They have tablets. Before that people had a TV in the dining room or wherever they eat, which is usually right next to the kitchen. Watching tv while doing household chores like dishes is nothing new or exclusive to the WiiU.

Agree, Nintendo gambled to much on the tablet and now it's biting them in the ass. Off course it's a cool concept, but the problem is that it doesn't really add enough to warrant the extra production cost (which could have been used for a decent gpu). Also, it was a bad idea to make it look exactly like the old wii. I bet most people aren't even aware that it's a totally new console but see it more as a premium model of the old wii.
