Same here.

always online? so you need to have an internet connection to operate the consoles? Hope this isn't a strategy to force gold down our throats

We'll know actually when the consoles releases.

I like these rumors.

Mandatory installs will be pretty damn annoying. As if consoles aren't already PC lite.

There are already mandatory installs this gen.

MS could not possibly announce this as official specs with a straight face. They know everybody who has an xbox would just throw up from this.

The thing is: When BluRay is not needed while running the game, you could simply install the game and give the game disc to your friend or resell it. Microsoft is not the company to allow such things, so there probably is a mechanism which binds the game to your account/console. Playing used games or taking the game disc to your friends house and play there seems therefore unlikely. Still Microsoft could possibly allow some sort of test playing for 2 days or so. We will see.

The always online thing also points to a mechanism, which checks if you are the legitimate owner of a game.

like i said in another thread, i have no problem with all of that since i never buy or sell used games (only when i sell the whole console and then the games i own will work on this console) and it's not even clear if "not playing from disc" means that the disc doesn't have to be in the console when you start the game or only an information for developers that all games will be played from hdd (which would be probably good news for devbelopers).

i even like the idea that the console would automatically install updates when they are released and not only when i start the console but i really hope that i can play a game and will only get a information to reconnect or something if i lose connection and not "you lost connection, you are back on the dashboard and the game didn't save" lol. i mean, even that wouldn't be a big problem if i wouldn't lose connection for few seconds every few hours.

i mean, i'm used to steam where i can't even be sure to really own the games and have to fear to get my account banned if i buy a game on the wrong site^^

This can't be true, there's no way Microsoft is this stupid

Windows 2000,Vista and Zune say hello.

There was nothing bad about win2k.

Exactly, win2k was great and I used it for a long time even after XP released.

Maybe he was talking about Win ME?

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

True .. it just seemed to me they really want to get rid from putting in a disc to play.

OK, ME was bad, yes. But it didn't have the NewTechnologies-Kernel so ... ;)
