Forums - Nintendo - Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut now confirmed, price and date

Is this game a sequel or something? That information is crucial for my to buy this.

It is actually a prequel. However, references are made to the two other games in the saga (Deus Ex and Deus Ex: Invisible War). You don't have to worry, though. This game is a complete story on its own, so no need to have played those two.

It is actually an oustanding game.

But what makes it great?

This game is too old to be ported but maybe new for Nintendo fans.

Nice boxart, but I never got into it.

Gave it two tries, the first only lasted a few minutes in the prologue mission. In my second try I got to the first real mission.
It's in my backlog but I have no desire to play it again. *sigh* I was even hyped for that game....

But...you didn't like it then? ;_;

Not really. The prologue mission was just a shooting mission and the game is IMO not a good shooter.
I don't like that it's an FPS, but changes to an TPS if you're in cover or climb latters etc.. That happens way too often.
Graphics are pretty good, unless you see other NPCs. They look horribly out of place.

I had hoped that it's more like Mass Effect 2 (without the team members obviously).

Cool game, but load times drove me nuts.

You don't actually need to shoot anything in the prologue mission.

Perhaps you get dizzy when it goes to FPS to TPS? And graphics are not the most important thing in this game... xD

Had you ever played a Deus Ex game previously? Perhaps you got hyped the wrong way...
