I don't really care if a game series is considered milked. If I enjoy it and it continues to be good than I want more. For example, I can't get enough halo. I'd love it to come out yearly like COD. If it came out monthly I'd subscribe.

The original game (not Horizon) has a break by now but no way MS will leave out Forza with NextBox.

2D Mario needs a break till they can get some new music or ideas.
Other than that I'd say the rest is ok.

Yeah, mario is definitely milked, you forgot Pokemon.
Also I don't see God of War PSP games as being main series. It is made by different developers and I don't see any connection with the main story.
Uncharted - 5 games since 2007. 3 main series - Can still keep going. Lovable character, great gameplay, really talented studio. I think they can do a lot with the franchise.
Resident Evil - Looking up a list - I think they need to take a break and decide which direction they are going to take the series.
Halo - 8 halo games since 2001. 5 main series - I think other timelines/characters are totally fine.
God of War - 10 GoW games released since 2005. 6 Main series - Playing through the series now so i'm not sure how III ends just yet. I don't know what else they could do with Kratos or the Greek mythology though? But the weird message in Ascension forshadowed a new GoW game and I'm sure SM knows what they are doing.
Zelda - 17 games since 2000. 11 main series - No reason to stop imo.
Sonic - 38 Sonic Games since 2000. 18 main series - If they can maintain the same level of quality as the last few games (Colors, Generations) then keep going! Not many games give you the same type of exhileration when it's at its best.
Assassin's Creed - 14 Assassin's Creeds since 2007. 6 main series. - Coming out too soon imo, holy hell. Slow Down lol. But I can't really talk about the quality of the games, I havn't played one since AC2.
Fable - 6 Fables since 2006. 3 Main series - I don't really see a problem with this franchise continuing.
Gears of War - 4 games since 2006. 4 main series - I think the story is kind of played out. They would need to change the time frame or characters or something. I don't see what else can be done with it atm.
Call of Duty - ``14 CoD's since 2003. 9 main series - Uuhhhmm. I just have personal reasons as to why I want this franchise gone forever. Dbags.
Mario - 85 since 2000. 8 mainline Platformers, 5 Kart racers, and 3 paper marios since 2000 - Not sure on this one since it covers so much. It seems even Nintendo fans seem to think it should slow down a bit. Personally (since i'm a Nintendo fan too) I'd like to see a break come about, and have Nintendo focus on some other less used franchises. Like Metroid or another Kid Icarus (I can dream lol)
Ratchet & Clank - 12 since 2002. 6 main series - Surprisingly I don't know that much about this franchise at all. Never really liked the characters.
Killzone - 7 killzones since 2004. 4 main series - Keep going. There's a lot of story to tell and I want to see if the Helghast ever get the redemption they deserve!
Metal Gear - 19 since 2000. 5 main series - Don't ever stop :p. There's a whole lot going on in the Metal Gear Timeline. Any point in modern history can practically be explored.
Final Fantasy - 49 since 2000. Main Series Unkown - Probably one of my favorite franchises. TBH I didn't like XIII all that much and didn't get into XIII-2. 7 is ridiculously iconic and 8,9,10, and 12 were great. Even the Srpg Tactics was amazing. Hopefully Versus gets things back on track. Anyway, since each numbered entry is completely unrelated to the last theres not much of a reason to stop.

Uncharted - Does not need a break, but the next entry should take advantage of the PS4 hardware.
Halo - Should not have another game until the NextBox, and even then something new should come of it
God of War - Desperately needs new ideas. Since the series inception, we've had multiplayer, HD, and... not much else. Mario and Pokemon aren't as bad. At very least add a new pantheon or something to slaughter.
Zelda - Despite the high number of games, only about two proper new titles appear per platform. And seeing as, for better and for worse, the series constantly messes with its own formula, freshness is not a prime concern.
Sonic - Needs to reevaluate what it's about: platforming or speed. Pick a direction and then go with it, or split the series into two. This half-assed 3D platforming with loose controls is not ideal. Next generation Sonic should focus in on one aspect and develop from there.
Assassin's Creed - Needs something new other than time periods. Maybe AC4 will add something like seemlessly going in and out doors, maybe there need to be some MMO elements, but honestly, the series has remained very consistent since 2007 despite its annual releases.
Fable - From what I've seen, Fable changes things up iteration to iteration, so it passes in my book.
Gears of War - Four games, same genre, same platform, same tech. Going back to Mario, at least Nintendo limits his outings per platform/genre/engine to two.
Call of Duty - I'm not going to hold Activision's sole purpose of existence against them at this point. Just make better handheld iterations and I'll call it a day.
Mario - Not overmilked per se, but overexposed. The next round of Mario games should be his last for a while. Give him 2014 and 2015 off other than Super Mario universe and Smash Bros, and let other series take the light for awhile.
Ratchet & Clank - Fun games, but the series is starting to go astray. At least make any future games on the Vita and/or PS4.
Killzone - Is branching out onto new platforms and doing newish things. Acceptable.
Metal Gear - We haven't had a main entry since 2008, and this brand covers multiple genres. So long as this widespread and steady approach continues, I'm content.
Final Fantasy - Needs to pull its shit together. Is Versus XIII a PS3 game or not? That thing was announced before the Wii came out. Either make main iterations in the series, or make the spinoffs high quality enough so that we don't care.
Oh, and add Kingdom Hearts to the list. There have been two main entries in the series, five spinoffs, two mobile titles, and then you have a pair of HD ports and a browser game coming up since 2002.

Mario is fine but holy shit that is way way more than I even thought possible.
CoD can go find a hole, die, respawn, die again, etc....... Oh, it they can't bring out other games once it respawns either.

Call Of Duty
Final-Fantasy
Metal Gear Solid
Resident Evil

Sonic
Assassin's Creed
