You don't seem to get the point. The PS3 was released a year after the 360. The means the PS3 has sold far more units per year than the Xbox 360. It's barely third in absolute sales (which means nothing), but second in sales per units by a wide margin, the only statistic that actually makes sense. If you REALLY want to use total sale, you'd need to add in the last year of PS2's sales to the PS3's sales to properly compare it to the 360, which is still larger.

There are more 360's sold worldwide than there are PS3's sold worldwide. Your "point" doesnt matter.

360 - 74,519,356
PS3 - 73,206,500

The PS3 is in 3rd place. No matter how many different excuses you use. No matter how much you try spin the numbers. The headstart doesnt matter. Aligned launches dont matter. Units per year doesnt matter. It doesnt matter if you want to add PS2 numbers to the PS3 total.

The PS3 is in 3rd place.

PS3. 3rd place.

3rd place.

you are acting like these numbers are spot on, even though we all know it's entirely not

If you can find me more accurate estimations, Ill happily use them.

Jack Tretton saying where he thinks they are means nothing. Its nothing official. Its speculation.

It would also be a shipped number, thus meaning nothing without knowing Xbox shipments.

Most people get that. But most of the people in here who mentioned the great sales of the PS3 weren't referring to the current lifetime total sales.

They were stating the fact that the PS3 has been selling better (as in: more units yearly) than the 360 over the years.

that's only possible by using shipped numbers, and tretton confirmed the PS3 shipped 77m which is slighly more then the 360

So does that mean that we should only use vgc numbers as a credible source? I guess by that statement any info or source outside of vgc is false?

Wow taking it too far much? Who said anything about outside sources not being credible? All i'm saying is that we should respect the numbers provided for us. It's better then surfing the internet to try and find numbers that suit your own taste. Do we have to get into this whole shipped vs sales thing again?

VGChartz..... as in Video Game "sales" Chartz

No he didnt confirm anything. He said he THINKS that theyre at 77 Million. Without knowing Xbox shipments its impossible to say. We wont know if its outshipped the 360 until the Quarterly reports. Right now, the best thing we have is VGChartz.

Most of those people were replying to me saying that the PS3 was in 3rd place after Deyon was gloating about it being top of the charts for the week. The fact that PS3 has sold more than the 360 through the years means relatively little, when it still hasnt passed it in lifetime totals.
