RolStoppable said: Sounds like you are a bad salesman. You should have countered that statement by saying that that's why people buy more games for their system and if they ever need advice on new game purchases, then you or a co-worker will be there to help them. Nobody keeps playing the same one or two games forever. |
HAHA no, im not saying i'm the best salesman but i'm better than mst people I work with. The thing is what game(s) with lasting value should a family with an 11 year old girl and an 8 year old boy have bought in the last year? The games they said they had for the Wii were Mario Bros. wii, Mario Galaxy, Wii Sports, Just dance 3, and some Disney Princess game.
You can think like a "hardcore" gamer when you deal with people who bought a system because it had a disney princess game their daughter wanted.

How about Mario Kart or Animal Crossing? It really isn't hard to think of additional quality games suited for their tastes when all they own is five games. It will also be irrelevant to them that these games came out years ago. At the same time it doesn't matter to such people that Nintendo abandoned the Wii; they don't even know about it.
It really sounds like you aren't interested in doing your job as a salesman and if it's true that you are better than most people you work with, then it's no wonder that less dedicated consumers are dropping out of the console market. Apparently they don't get any real help.

Fist of all you have no right to criticize my sales skills without actually being there for the entire interaction. What I gave was a breif overview of the conversation.
You don't think I brought them over to the Wii games and have them point out to me which games they had then ask them why they haven't bought X or Y? Whenever I pointed out games like MK, Donky Kong, Sonic Colors, or Zelda mom would say " they don't like those games" and I would ask " how do you know if they havent played them?" to which her stupid response was "because i'm their mother". So i Grabbed Sonic Colors because it was only like $15 and asked the kids if they would want to play it. The boy said yes but the girl said no. The girl just wanted more Disney games but the mother kept saying that it isn't worth buying them games she doesn't see them liking blah blah blah.
So look I don't just ask people if they want to buy stuff and leave. If they just want a game i go with them to the say PS3 games aisle and ask them what games they like and recommend games of that nature. If they are looking into systems you always ask if this is there first system, what games they enjoy, and who is the main user going to be. Then you bring them to the demo unit of the console that suites their needs the most, give them the rundown on what features the system has, and let them play it first hand. Lastly you show them what games are offerd on the system of their choice and what accessories would help make the system more enjoyable.
So as you can see I do in fact help people and give them an experience that they can't get with just buying online or ESPECIALLY going to Gamestop. Ohhh the mess Gamestop can cause. They had a guy convinced that the Wii U Gamepad could be played anywhere even in the car.
