No. Nintendo's still making some money out of the Wiis that are being sold.

The reason why the Wii-U isnt doing so well is because of its game library and its price which doesnt seem to be too appealing for the masses when you dont have that much of a decent gaming library (or at least one that includes enough exclusives to be worth it).

Not much worth buying a Wii-U for third party software when you have like three other platforms which offer the same games and at cheaper prices at times. Doesnt justify cashing in another $300+ just for those software when their being sold at full price.

Ok but will those people who are still buying the Wii buy the Wii U? Or will they be turned off because after a while they will be bored of the Wii and not see value in purchasing a Wii U.  Remember these are people who buy a system because of 1 or 2 games and not people who actually play games regularly like everyone on this site.

Do you honestly believe people will pay $300+ for something that they'll more than likely not invest time into doing? Even if the Wii was halted in production, people will either buy it off of sites like Ebay, stores that sell used consoles, or if all else fails for them attempt to emulate the system on their PC.

Pretty sure those people who are buying the Wiis are either

a) People who just want a cheap game system to play something that is available or has been available for quite some time and is available for a cheaper price.
b) Re-buying a game system since its cheaper in case their other system is old/broken/or that they want one just in case for the future.
c) families wanting to buy something for their young children who are new to gaming - something that they can easily invest on rather than paying hundreds of dollars on a new system, controllers and full priced games.

Its kinda the same reason why people invest on mobile gaming since technically they buy a phone for other uses but see the gaming aspects being cheap affordable and worth getting it.

Of course they will!! You would be very suprised at how stupid the average consumer can be. They WILL buy a product blindly without second thought. I've seen people buy things like 3D TV with smart apps thinking they will use it but never even get a 3D blu-ray player or have wi-fi!
