I would total jump on this deal if my subscription was close to running out, but I'm going to hold off. Awesome thread, Newegg is a great place to find deals.

Unless you believe MS is going to end the subscription fee in the next couple years you might as well jump on the deal now. If you buy it cheap now then when your Gold runs out you won't have to pay full price. If you wait there is no guarantee that it will be on sale when your Gold does run out and you might be forced to pay full price.

I like to have at least one 12 month Gold card sitting on my shelf waiting for when my current runs out. I only buy on sale so I don't want to risk running out of Gold and no sale to buy cheap.

FYI - The Family Plan has been discontinued and Microsoft has not offered a replacement.  Don't know when your subs run out but you may want to consider buying some Gold cards just in case.

Yeah, I definitely didn't know that. I'm not 100% sure but I think I've got a little while left, I'll deal with it when it ends but the family plan was nice.
