Forums - Gaming - Do you have any issues with the gaming industry?

If so what?  Why?  And how could they fix it?

Too many to list.

I'd say the most prominent thing is the saturation of COD like 1st and 3rd person shooters.
After that I'd say a company's attitude about milking a franchise, causing that franchise to die off.

Then EA. and tons more that I have no time to list.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

Non Nintendo and PC gamers.

xbox and playstation fanboys piss me off like no other. nintendo will fail without an hd console. wah wah wah. nintendo makes an hd console. it's so underpowered and a piece of shit. nintendo announces exclusive 3rd party games. wah wah wah, they should be on xbox and playstation, nintendo is so gay. blah blah blah

dealt with it for a decade now.

Yeah, I hate crappy ass reviews like the one IGN gave Castlevania MoF. Why, because it gives potentially good games a bad rap. For example those clowns over at IGN gave Castlevina LoS an average rating, but that game IMO was way above average. Anyways, what can be done, we can shoot all but a few IGN reviewers, but if that is not doable, I think we can buy games irrespective of review scores.

Nintendo Network ID: DaRevren

I love My Wii U, and the potential it brings to gaming.

Digital Distribution

DMA

Serial Keys

Online Pass

It used to be when you bought something you owned it. Game publishers have spent that last decade tricking people into believing that used games should be a crime and we don't deserve ownership rights anymore.

Around the Network

- It tries too hard to be Hollywood, and in the process loses some of what makes gaming unique as a medium.

- Too much focus on online and social crap at the expense of single player and local multiplayer.

- Industry professionals slinging mud and trolling like school children.

- DLC and patching encourages releasing half-baked products.

-Milking consumers with paid online and microtransactions.

Manipulating Reviews

DLC

Online Registration/ Always Online / all that crap

more and more mainstream stuff / making games for dumb people/ all those "I have to explain every little shit tutorials" (some day games will teach you what a button is what Y X A B means etc and that ANALog sticks should not be confused with sextoys)

Games being difficult because they are unfair instead of smart/hard to beat.

Games getting shorter and shorter (like 6h campaigns LOL)

My solution KILL THE ONES RESPONSIBLE! and torture the ones buying this crap :)

Can't believe I neglected to mention these two, especially the second point.

Retail games shouldn't be allowed to have campaigns shorter than 8 hours, and that's rushing through on the easiest difficulty.

I have one big issue. The fact that the gaming industry has figured out the formula for what sells, so originality is destroyed. The biggest culprit is the FPS. While I love them, we don't need 20 of them a year. An fps is now a dime a dozen, but games like LBP and Heavy rain just aren't out as much.

Post of the year! Except for the Heavy Rain..........no Heavy Rain please >.>

Games like Resident Evil, Dead Space got lost in the woods....what other games lost their originality?
