I'll buy it first day if the game is actually difficult. Games are too hand holding these days.

My only time I had struggled in God of War wasnt cause of battles.....it was the underworld portion in the first game....climbing up the mountain/cliff/whatever its called....those spikes every time you hit it takes you back to the bottom >___>.

I remember the first time I played the game - it took me hours XD

Second time which was last year only took me a few tries l0l.

i hated that section, HATED IT!

i have a extra save point for it, if i don't make it with a few tries, i'll just load that one when i replay the game

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

A game should not make you replay a section (a good 30 minutes worth of a section) when you've clearly demonstrated that you can go through it perfectly.  Also I beat like 10 of the bosses and didn't die too much but honestly I just got annoyed with the targeting and replaying of the easy parts just to get to the hard parts.  There should be a checkpoint before the final boss.  If you want to give me just as much health as I had before then fine.  I don't mind a challenge.  I've platinumed a lot of games (most require you to beat on hard).  I've beaten really difficult 8 and 16 bit games, but damn I hated that lack of checkpoints.  It just felt like they were artificially extending the game's hours by making me replay easy parts again and again so that by the time I got to the boss I didn't remember the right strategy (eventually I found that most of them had easy ways to beat them with the environment).  Bottom line is I didn't stop because of difficulty.  I had just beaten a giant dragon that you to harpoon and when I did I basically thought to myself "I am not having fun with this" and sold it.

Checkpoints = easy games. I guess you aren't hardcore, bro.

You only made it to the Dragon God? Not even close to finishing the game. Lol.

Checkpoints don't make a game any easier.  They just make you not have to repeat past success.  Like I said, give me the same health I had.  If I got to that point with half my health, then fine have me start at the checkpoint with half my health.  That means no advantage and makes the game no easier.  Without that checkpoint it doesn't make the game any harder, it just makes it so people can act more hardcore and say they are playing a 100 hour game.  Also I beat 11 bosses I'm pretty sure cause I beat 2 in each world then went back to the Dragon God.

you ever played GoW on the hardest difficulty?  My God mode runthrough on the first is one of my biggest accomplishments.  You basically had to fight perfect.

This will surely raise the single-player game time.

I remember the demo caused me more problems than GOW games usually give me, anyway, I think its a good thing

So either reviewers are pussies or it's a bad design choice. We'll have to wait until the game comes out to see which one is it.

Nintendo and PC gamer

it will still be a good game

VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3

reminds me of GoW 1 puzzle that had me stuck for ages when all it was is something small and simple I had over looked.

i also remember being stuck on the Kronos fight at one point when I was unsure what the game was wanting me to do.

had a similar problem with Shinobi on the master system and Shinobi on the PS2 with a certain boss.

had a similar problem when playing Zelda a link to the past on the snes where I was stuck due to a puzzle where you had to travel between the darkworld and the normal world.

had a similar problem on DMC1 when some back tracking was needed and I was unsure where to go and what to do.

There are many more examples of this on many more games, but for all the above, as frustrating it has been at times, it hasn't been due to bad design as much as it has been about either not having paid proper attention to some clues, missed out a small detail or 2 and or looking for everything but the simple solution.

Since we haven't played this, it is hard to say what reviewers will make of this, but one thing is for sure, so called journalists are making a big thing out of this already and usually this means they will not hold back, they will go all out to bash whatever they can followed by, "I am a GoW fan and I really wanted to like this, but...."
