I bought Animal Crossing for Gamecube, and it was fun, but I felt a bit lacking, which made sense because it was a port of an N64 game, without much added to it. I wish the game had more NES games to collect, and more furniture to collect, and better jobs to do then walk around and deliver mail, and sell fruit. Still it wasn't a bad game, but when I played Wild World and looked into City Folk, I found out not much was changed/added to the game. I don't collect SNES or GB games, which really disappointed me, and the amount of Nintendo Content in the game didn't really expand. Plus if you don't play for 6 months, everyone hates you.
Pikmin on the other hand surprised me. I must have beaten that game 4 or 5 times now, and it's just so damn fun. This was an original idea, and it's unusually fun. I thought this was one of Nintendo's best new IP's. Heck I bought my Wii when I heard Pikmon 3 was coming to Wii (but now Wii U -
). Hard to explain why I love the game, probably because it's not competetive, mosderatly challenging, but fun. Really laid back fun.
So I vote Pikmin
----
P.S. Animal Crossing and Pikmin are not the only new IP's Nintendo created in the 7th gen. Golden Sun was created for GBA and DS, and I consider that to be their best new IP. Plus Fire Emblem and Advance Wars were localized on the GBA for the first time. Because of these 3 series, I have stuck with Nintendo, and become a die hard handheld gamer. If if weren't for these 3 games, I probably wouldn't be playing Nintendo handhelds anymore. Plus XenoBlade appears to be becoming a series with a sequel on the Wii U, so there is another successful and well recieved IP by Nintendo within the last 12 years.
So my true vote goes to:
1. Golden Sun
2. Fire Emblem
3. Advance Wars
4. XenoBlade
5. Pikmin
6. Animal Crossing
