You mean if they plan to do the same with the Wii U that they did with Nintendo's highest selling home console ever, and the 3rd (may eventually reach 2nd) highest selling home console ever?
I just read a rumor about an updated version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution possibly coming :)

Is anyone actually really worried about the Music of "X"?
I like the music in the trailer, but I think without ACE+ it won't be as epic of a soundtrack.

I know what you mean, but I think the music in the trailer is already epic and a great indication for the rest of the OST. Also X looks to be a little bit 'darker' and more serious than Xenoblade so a different style of music will be needed.
And who knows who else are working on the OST. With Xenoblade they only mentioned Shimomura working on the soundtrack, eventually she only worked on about 5 songs I think...
X will be a system seller because that's the kind of game that will attract the kind of gamers who will shell out $350+ for a console; a massive, gorgeous, open-world, "hardcore" follow-up to what it perhaps the most beloved JRPG of the 7th gen. Plus, it's 1st party, so gamers won't hold out to see if it goes multiplat.
Attempts to draw in the casuals with games like Wii Fit U, LEGO City Undercover, and New Super Mario Bros U won't work at this point because the system is too expensive; casuals gravitate towards the cheaper options. Once the price drops, then we might see these kind of games become big hits. Until then, Nintendo will have to appeal to the "core" if they want to move systems.

Nintendo must have noticed the very positive response that Xenoblade got. It didn't get major sales, but it has a good reputation. Something they could use to pull in RPG buyers in the west and east. In the minimum i expect them to push the sequel more then the original.
So under the right conditions, X could become a modest system seller. I'm pretty Nintendo wants it to be.

Hi guys, I've pretty much gone tired of all the Nintendo hate and doomed threads. How PS4 will crush Wii U already while there aren't any hit sellers announced for it. A console sells because of it's games alright! Some of you have to remember what games are announced for it. So here are some games I found interesting and others probably find interesting. Just take a look at this tremendously game-list. If Nintendo keeps it up to come up with games like this, Wii U may be my favorite Nintendo-console.

And of course we got some games that are not yet shown: Mario Kart Wii U, Super Mario Wii U, Super Smash Bros. 4, Retro Studios' Wii U Game, Miyamoto's new IP, Zelda Wii U, and who knows what will be revealed at E3 or Nintendo Directs. If you once again doubt about Wii U's future, take a look at its games. |
That's it, only 23 games, pff.......HOLY CRAP, it's only been out for 3 months and has this listed and you didn't even include the launch titles.
I knew this console would go the 3DS way. The only problem these 2 systems ever had was the hate from bias gamers and that doesn't do anything as shown in the DS vs. PSP, and I was routing for the PSP at first.
The Problem is, PS3 costs about half as much as the Wii U and gets GTA 5, The Last of Us and Beyond this year. Nintendo just can't keep up with that, that's why I think sales will pick up when the old generation dies. The Wii U can very wel compete with PS4 and Xbox 3, the price alone will take care of that. But against PS3 and 360 Nintendo got no chance at all. Too expensive, too few games, no mass appeal. Even Nintendos First Party titles won't change that all that much.
The Wii U also can't be compared to the 3DS, because the competition is a lot tougher. The Vita was dead on arrival, while 360 and PS3 are very healthy and have a shitload of games for low prices. Now I don't care if you call Wii U Last Gen or Next Gen, but at the moment it's definitely in direct competition with the 7th Gen. But so will be PS4 and Xbox 3.
In the end, there's no way Nintendo is going to dominate like with the Wii. But even if they come out last place, they should be ok. Until the new consoles from Microsoft and Sony have launched, the Wii U can't be really judged, so we will just have to wait and see.
