Forums - PC Discussion - PC gamers and builders ,do you actually use Anti-Static wrist straps when you install your CPU?

lol, no
you just have to touch your pc case before touching any of the other components, to discharge any static electricity on you

Like others I just earth myself before touching sensitive stuff.

Nah I use a high powered electro magnet to handle the components then weld them into place.

I didn't even know such a thing existed, so I guess that's a no!

I built my PC on a wooden floor and just regularly touched the case to discharge

However, when I open up my PC for cleaning, I do it on a carpet without worrying about static, just keep touching the case!

I use my psychic powers and move things with my mind.

No, I just plug it in and touch the case. No problem.

Wrist straps that make you a better PC builder?

Nobody tell Mark Cuban!

Never. But I use the antistatic stuff boards and components are wrapped into. Everything lies on this (connected) stuff before being installed so everything is at the same potential at all times.
