I rarely ever post on this site ever but this caught my attention. As far as I read this thread up to page 5, people just seem to see you as a sony fan who has no idea what they're talking about. I myself, have been an Xbox/xbox360 fan for a very long time. In the end, I have been thinking over the past few months that I realized I've been virtually robbed by MS for at least 7 years. I've been paying to play online for far too long and it does feel like buying a ps3 over 360 could've been cheaper in the long run. I've also had a problem with my 360, TWICE. And guess what SINGLE franchise got me into the Xbox in the 1st place....Halo. I was a total Halo nerd for too long, and don't get me wrong, I still love Halo for it's universe, it's just that it's owned my MS that I feel is recently upsetting me. Well I don't want to get into so much detail now, but this is now coming from someone who now plays on PC/WiiU on a normal basis. I just want to support the OP that just because OP is a sony fan, shouldn't immediately make him biased against MS.

Thank you.

Half of these assertions are things that I actually hear many 360 owners complain about. I just happen to be a PS3 fan bringing it up and some of these people just find it easier to attack me rather than the issue. Like I pulled these ideas out my ass or something.

I will continue to try and conduct more civil discussion.

i feel the same way, somehow they managed to make us pay for something (live) making us beleive that it was not available in any other console. In microsoft defense i would say that they were the first ones to offer this service in a very useful way, but the fact that they started rising prices was plain insulting.

yeah cause getting hacked and being down for a month is the better way. not to mention inferior everything online. la time i checked there are many psn games that still dont have any voice chat even though they have online component. also some games like mortal kombat 2 dont allow you to have a private match with people on your friends list... random matchmaking only. this kind of stuff is rediculous for an xbox live user

i like the fact xbox live costs money. people are less likely to screw around' cheat, hack and team kill when they are paying money to have an account. also skill based matchmaking doesnt work if accounts are free...

look at me, im level gazillion in this fps game and i feel like killing some newbs for a day, ill just open a free account and demolish everyone i get paired up and then go to my regular account tommorow... no thanks

I don't agree with that opinion, but I respect it. I still don't see raising the price justifying that in anyway though.

i know for fact that if i want to screw around and blow some steam while making life difficult for othrs ill go on psn and team kill or cause my team to lose matches in battlefield 1943 or something. ill use one of my 4 free accounts...who cares right.

but if i want to rank up and really get in to a game and online experience like i did for borderlands itll always be on xbox. ive had this one account for 5 years and its tied to my main email and microsoft account. i dont want to screw around with that...

see where i am coming from...

To be honest, I think Nintendo has done a lot more for me to not buy anything from them lol Crap hardware, core control is motion related, crap online, friend codes, virtually no third party support, over reliance on the SAME established IPs (not suggesting there was nothing new), etc, etc, etc. And yet I plan to get a Wii U. I like their games, so people have their reasons and preferences. My biggest issues with MSFT was the RROD, which comes as no surprise. There are other issues with them, but as I suggested I think I was most incensed with Nintendo this gen. MSFT has strengths too, and in my eyes their strengths > Nintendo's. Let's see how they do this gen.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

I don't know, I sort of resonate with the OP. I was a former 360fan that's now fully behind the PS3. I just feel I've watched Microsoft.... not exactly ditch the core, but maybe take them for granted ever since they started to focus on Kinect. To be honest I feel it's gone from bad to worse and it's only going to get worse. I'm going to tell my story of how I perceived events in a little rough cronological summary as I sort of remember it.

2006-2009ish - Halo, Gears, Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, Fable, ninety-nine nights, Tenchu, Gears, Kameo + Tonnes more exclusives omg I'm in heaven thanks MS. Big games that 360 got first Oblivion, Eternal Sonata, Mass effect ect, Zomg thanks again. For me 360 was the obvious gamers choice.

2010 - Okay bit of Kinect nonsence going on here at E3, exclusives have pretty much dried up but we are still getting a halo/gears or fable game every year and I'm sure once Kinect fever at MS has died down they will get back to the core.

2011 - (watches E3) Oh good lord it's turned into a Kinectfest...

2012 - Well the Gears game is a prequel and not really a fan of prequels but at least........ Oh dear Lord what the hell have they done to Fable! A Kinect game... really.....
Wait... no... No! Steel Battalion... Star Wars..... oh god please Kinect leave them alone... whyyyyy!!!!!

2013 - I'm just praying the rumors are not true and they don't do the single thing that I think could make things worse for the core. Put one in every 720. Not only does this mean they are sticking their fingers up at the core and telling them they are going to buy a Kinect whether they want to or not (or in many peoples case a second one!) but it means that if it's even possible microsoft will focus even more on Kinect in the future.

Sorry if it comes off as fanboyish but these are my real thoughts. All I know is that I thought the 360 was great at the start of the gen, but then for me it just fell apart post Kinect =/

learn that people have preferences and opinions and stop shoving yours down others throats. Goodnight

I RECOMMEND PEOPLE NOT COMMENTING IN THIS THREAD AND LET IT DIE.  DONT FEED PEOPLE WHEN THEY MAKE THESE TYPE OF THREADS.  YOUR NOT GOING TO CHANGE HIS OPINION AND ALL THIS THREAD IS GOING TO BE IS ARGUEING AND HIM DEFENDING HIS REASONS.

What are you talking about? You are basically going LALALA to these glaring issues that I have pointed out. I just would like to know how something like this is so easily dissmissed when so many other companies get blasted for far less.

ps2 was just as flawed but with out social media and also without a extended warranty. MS did everything right but you seem to have forgot ps2, so why should we be mad about this if it was handled way better.

8% vs 40%+

PS2 was no where near as bad and you are dilusional if you think so. Online gaming wasn't even a thing really yet when PS2 came out. The general console gaming public still wasn't even sure if it was something they wanted yet.

Any company can get hacked i was not sonys fault it was the hackers fault.

the mortal kombat problem is not psn fault is the developers.

The most hacked console in the market is the xbox 360 that is fact. check for yourself i don feel like finding a source for the obvious...

I play Halo, and even in xbox 360 people open new accounts to kill newbz specially when you dont want to pay for your xbox live and use a new account of the three free accounts that an xbox has when you buy it.(i did that once free live for a month!:P)

I am the new kid in town!!!

I know exactly what you mean with the 2nd part of your comment, I've had my account for at least 7 years, I should know the feeling. However, how often would you see all that purpose team killing going on? I don't own a ps3 but PC is also basicly free online gaming and I've hardly seen anyone do that kind of stuff myself, not saying that it doesn't happen in the slightest, but I've even seen this sorta thing happen with xbox live as well.

Thats ironic because the general concensus is that the 360 is riddled with small and big children alike screaming all manner of obcenities 24/7. As opposed to PS3 which is usually completely quiet, or casual talking. Tactical games actually work better on PS3 I think. MAG and KZ come to mind as they are not K/D fests at heart and require more tactics usually than the average Halo or COD match(So I am told).

I lived in a Frat house where everyone owned a 360, and every time they played an online game, it was neverending noise through the headset. The only time there was ever similar disturbances on PS3.....was when a vet 360 gamer was up there . Go Figure :/

1.Okay so you decided to pick a console up late in its life cycle and then you want to complain that MS dropped support too quickly? Okay, most companies other than sony don't support their console after a new one releases, Nintendo does the same thing...

2.They spent billions because of their mistakes, I'm sure they've learned something. " where they would fix your console......just so it would break again a month later" lol this was such a rare case, people claiming they've been through 8 consoles in a couples years are more often then not liars adding fuel to the fanboy wars. So a few idiots kept buying consoles at your job because they were too dumb to not use a warranty? omigawsh, I know people that had to buy new PS3s because of YLOD guess they better be wary about the ps4.

3.Sony doesn't do the same thing? Interesting

4.Total Abandonment? Sure retail is a bit lacking but they always had something for the core, not mention MS heavily pushes out multiple core games on XBLA.

5.I'm sure they are aware and are changing the XBLG model, or at least I hope so.

6. errrr okay? People knew what they were getting which was barebones. No doubt the Ps3 had more worth right out of the box

People are judging the next xbox when they know literally nothing about it, it only shows you're bias. And please add more playstation related things in your sig, it's looking a lil barren :/ (of course I'm just joking around :P)

wow what a moaner u are mush
