Sony was close to matching MS in assets at the end of PS2... The ps3 wiped out Sony's bank.. Thus they looked at MS who is making consoles like a PC ..powerful and easy to develop games for.. And they do what?  They say..ok LETS DO IT TOO!..  Now MS has tons more cash and assets... Recently Sony sold alot of assets to raise cash..

If the rumors about blocked used games and always online is true, they definetly should worry about public reaction.

And yet MS has the money because they are doing something right.. And they arent throwing the money away on risk as Sony did with the PS3... Sony pretty much sqaundered Billions of dollars in the bank .. Money put in the bank because of the PS2.. They got cocky and thought everyone in the world would surely buy a PS3.. Instead they lost marketshare, and exclusives

My point is they have the financial capacity to hold their ground against Nintendo or Sony. The transition from Xbox to Xbox 360 and how Microsoft responded with Wii's motion shows they are improving competiting in the gaming space. Bear in mind, Microsoft is new in the gaming industry.

fucking hell, get with the times man. no one gives a shit what happened 10 years ago anymore and whats with all this talk of money money money? why do you care that microsoft make money? i dont get it!? how does it possibly benefit you in any way, shape or form? this question goes to everyone who boasts about microsofts finances.

History repeating. XBox 360 has lower specs than the PS3. Multi-platform developers favoured development on the XBox 360. It is much easier to port a lower grade port to a higher end system than it is to downgrade.

 the differences in architecture...compared to the HUGE difference from the PS3/PS4 leave emulation as actually possible on the xbox... The ps3 games were designed around the cpu (cell) instead of the gpu ( opposite the 360 and yes the Ps4) as well.. Which is why Sony ditched cell imho for the developers
