Forums - General - Have you been put to sleep by anesthesia?

I must have been 10 or 11 but I was given a choice, gas or IV. But then the nurse came and just put in the IV. Good thing, too. I had a little bit of needle-phobia but it was nothing (and the whole experience helped me overcome that, from the blood-drawing to the IV) and the best part was that it doesn't linger like gas can. I felt 100% fine and alert as soon as I woke up. (the fact that it was a very minor surgery may have helped)

But as I remember it was instant. One moment you're there, the next, you're waking up somewhere else.

yup three times actually

tasted like onion once, don't remember any tastes the other two times. one of the times I was flying high up in the sky through clouds and then I woke up disappointed telling the nurse that she should not have woken me up

You should have quoted Reggie: "What's wrong with you?"

You can't really remember it.

Your long-term memory won't carry all the way to the very point of drifting to sleep, that's why you can try count to 10 or whatever and you'll only remember up to a certain number where in fact you count further than that And then after you wake up as usual, but very confused, often shaking like someone with severe hypothermia... man it sucks big time.

It really varies per person. When I woke up my fiancé was like "stay still, you will probably feel like crap and a but confused." Yet I got right out of bed, walked to the nurses counter and asked how long I had to wait before I could leave. Then took a piss in the bathroom.

i literally felt like I woke up from a nap.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

I've had anesthesia once for tonsil surgery.

My story is pretty much like Pezus'. They put a mask sort of thing over your mouth and then they say to breathe naturally while counting down to 10, you never get to 10 though.

When I woke up I had about a minute of confusion and then I noticed where I was and how bad my throat hurt.

Down to 10?? From what, 20?

Lol, whoops. I meant down from 10.

she said she screamed like a pig getting killed lol

Did they do anything for her afterward since she obviously wasn't administered enough anesthesia? (Like, did they lower the price of the surgery?)

I was like in first grade for tonsils

I remember the surgeons look like they were in a caleidiscope. It was amazing.

I could be not remembering correctly.

I had one time where they were knocking me out for surgery, and I tried to stay up as long as I could. They had me count down from 100 backwards. I remember it being hard to talk in the 80's.

I remember tinging in my arm, feeling the stuff move through my body, and my whole face and body feel all tingly.

I remember black outs, where I could see the staff walking, then a second of darkness, then there would have jumped - like a movie missing frames. One second there were next to me, the next 3 feet moved. (They were walking around and I had gapes in my memory from being put to sleep.)

I remember them saying, "Looks like he is definitely out, we should begin!" And I decided that I should get to sleep as quickly as I cool.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

My story is similar. NiKKoM asked me to smell a cloth and the next thing I knew I was noticing that I was lying in a dumpster and how bad my ass hurt.

So it wasn't you that visited SuperCuck in San Antiono?
