Forums - General - Have you been put to sleep by anesthesia?

yes three months ago was the last time and it was pretty fast. from awake to very tired to asleep in maybe few seconds.

when i woke up it was already very late (got the surgery at 11pm), i just saw the doc who said "everything fine but there was a lot of pus" and instantly fell asleep a second time lol. then i woke up anytime at night, saw it's still night and fell asleep a third time till morning haha

I've had few surgeries, normally they will give you drugs to calm down before the operation commences but from the point they administer the general anaesthetic it’s pretty much goodnight sweet dreams than you wake up with hopefully a attractive nurse near you.

Anesthesia may be better than when I had it in the many surgeries I had when I was a kid. I remember most of the time it was with gas anesthesia, having to count to 10 and starting to feel a little funny and never getting to 10 before waking up several hours later in recovery.

I've had anesthesia once for tonsil surgery.

My story is pretty much like Pezus'. They put a mask sort of thing over your mouth and then they say to breathe naturally while counting down to 10, you never get to 10 though.

When I woke up I had about a minute of confusion and then I noticed where I was and how bad my throat hurt.

My story is similar. NiKKoM asked me to smell a cloth and the next thing I knew I was noticing that I was lying in a dumpster and how bad my ass hurt.

lol. Was your wallet still in its rightful place?

I'm pretty sure they still use this technique.

You poor little thing. I can definitely relate to this because I have been suffering from tonsillitis since I was a child. I still suffer from it frequently. Its so friggin annoying.

I got it once, via IV drip. I was really nervous, because needles make me antsy, but once it was inserted, there was really nothing to it. I felt perfectly normal, and the nurse just chatted with me idly for a minute or so, and the next thing I remember, I woke up XD

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

...damn it! That's two things he stole from me!

I've had it both by injection and gas. With injection it's pretty fast. Gas however takes a bit longer and is funner.

On a side note the coolest way to fall asleep is where you blink and suddenly it's morning and you're in a different position.
